Thread: What is the meaning of IBF?

This thread is to point out the fallacy that this forum can grow only when it is restricted to broadband & its related topics. I have pointed out two glowing instances from history when the name had become irrelevant.

GE: This company was started as General Electric but now it is in sectors related to finance as well.

IEEE- This organisation was started as Institute Electrical & Electronic Engineers. But now it has its presence in computer , biotechnology & other fields as well.

Can we also make our forum such that it become to include many other aspects also?

Is this forum for users having Broadband trouble only or users having broadband with a general query & want to share their experiences & tastes with others?

This forum has the capability to become a joining force & voice of India but only if we don't restrict ourselves. We have to reach infinity & beyond. & explore uncharted territory.



PS: How are techies going to live without other interesting people?
Mod are requested to not to change the vote parameters.

Luke, no one restricted anyone from posting interesting stuff.
There are tons of non-technical interesting stuff in this forum
and the mods never asked to restrict that. It is just we need
to reduce our non-technical, non-interesting stuff like spam.
and I think that is a very reasonable request.

I agree with you that this forum can grow to a much larger
audience in addition to BB users. I don't think the mods
are restricting us in achieving that.

surfing doesnt just meet involving proxies ports lan wan wi fi etc etc. It also means chatting talking to people around news drinking coffee or cold drink girl guys gays and lesbians too.

@ farce I have given the vote part now. I know that what you have said but I think we have to remove this misconception for which this vote will be a good reassurance.

I agree with you also but only solving people queries is not going to do that. IRC channels are better for that. I think many section like music ,literary & others must not be considered spams.

About the mis-understanding... i can only say this, there is no restriction for anything... just understand it for yourselves and control it.
If it is said dont spam much & that day you spam 50 posts... then also no issues, but dont make it a habit to spam 50 posts everyday thats all.

Hmmm.

I see that there is still a confusion.

Spam: All threads in the "Yard" section are spam. All offtopic discussions on Tech/KB (Knowledge Base) threads is spam. Mods may move some threads to "Yard" and that is what it means then ... spam. Besides these there are some threads in "Offtopic" which are on the borderline.

All other sections are either Tech sections or KB sections.

50 spam posts is simply too many. The average posts per person (regular members) here is 20.

Spamming is not the way to increase post count.

Jokes per se are not spam but when a joke thread goes too far (beyond 40 posts) into chit chat, then it is.

well i dunno y is there a topic like this but still i ve voted for BB users sharing their thoughts, tastes, views, suggestions......

i mean alot of us r non technical based ppl......for ex. me ....i m not at all a technical person....but tht doesnt mean i go on spamming ...... first definae whts spamming here....? apart from thtt we all do post in alot of other threads...which are not from technical side....i dont think so its nec tht we ve to post in tech stuff .....but if u r tech oriented n all of sudden jus start gng on with spamming wid an interest of getting no. of posts risen up...i wouldsay is acceptable till an extent.....
