One Year with IBF - 1st Anniversary

Last year around the same time I was searching Google regarding my broadband issue. The search landed me at India Broadband Forum. I joined the forum on 21st August 2008. I opened a thread (my first thread) stating my problem. It was the frequent disconnection issue. Here's that thread: Frequent Disconnection - Please Help.

I must say that after I joined this forum, I had learned so many broadband terminologies like bridge mode, PPPoE mode, SNR value, attention value & many more. This forum really helped me improve my knowledge on broadband. I became aware of almost most of the broadband issues & their solution.

Some of the friends I made in the early days were Archer, Manish (my half brother), Preeti_20, itsmemad, Navgemi (we miss you & your jokes a lot) & of course Admin, Just4kix & Smoothvibes. I still remember those early days when Navgemi & Preeti_20 used to rock the Jokes & Bollywood section respectively.

Then later we had the first kind of contest here in the forum. It was a article writing contest.Preeti_20 won the first week.Second week I won, then on the third week, itsmemad won it.After this we had this Highest Poster Contest. It was a nightmare for the mods & admin as the forum was flooded with spam posts. This contest gave birth to some new members but some senior members also got vanished after the contest. One of those member was Navgemi. He used to rock the Jokes section. He was our favorite. I really miss him a lot.

When I joined this forum, I never ever thought that after a year I would become the Mod of this forum.Its still early days for me a Mod. Its a learning phase for me. I am really enjoying this phase. I believe that I will do justice to this position.

There was one moment which I would never ever forget. It was a firday morning (7th Nov 2008). None of the mods were online during that time. These 3 guys: Vyder19, bsnlpunkkid, mrinal24, who were just spamming the forum with nonsense posts. They were simply unstoppable. When Archer, Eddy & myself tried to stop them, they (Vyder19, bsnlpunkkid, mrinal24) started abusing us very badly. Later I released that its better to be quite & wait for the mods to arrive. The smoothvies arrived & those the three musketeers were banned. Here's that thread: Ban On Vyder19, bsnlpunkkid, mrinal24

I have really enjoyed every bit of the last one year. & I am looking forward for many more years with IBF.
