Yes, but when it comes to pure stopping power and armour penetration Tavor is better than mp5. It is a great weapon at medium range combat, don't know about its close combat abilities.

That is M16 or the M4A1? I have seen it only with NATO or other American allied countries armed forces. This is the first time I am seeing Indian Armed forces person holding it.

Assault rifles always have a better penetration power and range when compared to sub-machines .... bullpop is a particularly extreme variety of Assault rifle . Even more powerful than M4 carbines .So obviously Tavor being based on bullpop design is very powerful .
Tavor is very effective in close quarters and vehicular combat (which is not generally the case with Assault rifles bull pop or otherwise) ,so it was chosen for our special Forces .....

Indian Armed force dont use M4 carbines ....read the titles of the pics .... That post was completely about Indian paramilitary (Indian special force) ......Garud command force is used to gaurd important air installations and is a unit of IAF .... India's special force use a variety of equipment ...... for example the MARCOS were trained by US Navy SEALS hence they used H&K sub-machines and other weapons like crossbows for silent kills

Not really F: See the way the guy seating in the front left is holding is AK? If it were a movie, I can assure you the nozzle would have been pointing upwards.

I made a powerpoint presentation out of the pics i have for my offline friends .... many thought that some of the pictures were movie props while some thought it was a foriegn army(espcially Garud commandos who look like US army rangers) .... It seems Indians are under the impression that everything that looks good cannot be Indian ! thats really sad .

About the pic .... yes i am sure ...... i also have 2 more pictures of the same guys in the same jeep that i did not post .... it more than proves them to be legit

one easy way of seperating the Indian commandos from the rest is by checking to see if they are wearing kevlar Gloves .... except the SPG personnal no other special forces wear gloves or sometimes wear syntheitc/cloth based/biker gloves atleast for photoshoots. Kevlar gloves are really thick .

I confirm this is INDIAN, Please check the marked areas.
I was the Senior Commanding Officer for NCC in 2001 and when I had been to the Republic Day parade in New Delhi I have see so many Indian army, navy people wearing those badges, It is given only to Indian commando's.

possibility that it was a movie shooting, (they can make the same
uniforms with the same patches you know ;-)

going by my gut feeling which more often that not is

To the best of my knowledge none of our special forces use AKs .... only the army .... looking at the stock i am guessing its an mp5 sub-machine

those were taken in an bustling airport .

Like i said before Garud commandos are Indian Airforce commandos .... In any major airports you are likely to see soldiers in blue jeeps wearing the same uniform ... but some of them wear a red beret instead of those hats
