    Default Renewable energy

I have always wished to share my thoughts with like minded guys ( and girls too for that matter) on a lot of issues

that keep cropping up in my mind. Starting today , I will write on different topics using the indianbroadband fora.Thanx admin for the opprotunity.

the first topic is my long time Achilles Heel ..the renewable energy conundrum

Ever since I was in college, I have been particulary interested in and researching

all kinds of renewables ,which for me can be classified into the follwing major categories:

    1) Sun based projects

    2) wind based projects

    3) Biomass and biofuels

    4) water and hydels

The solar technology is an expensive one with panel efficiency

still very low and break even doesnt happen before 20 yrs or so

the wind is a good option..but many areas are unfeasible with poor wind

    profiles

Biomass is great option for small home power and biofuels

are stuggling with large scale production issues

small hydro is good in areas where natural flowing water is there
or large projects on rivers..but fail in home power

Each of the above categories has held my interest at some time and

I have done some research on each topic in the last 10 yrs

Now its really not possible to talk in detail what I have learnt abt those technologies

and their products simply because its way way too vast to be covered here.

But I can tell the readers that even though I now live in India..I have not paid a single

penny for electricity ( apart from AC) for the last abt 5 yrs

All my lighting fixtures, fans and other small appliances are run on a unit which is a

    combination of the above technologies.

We have even helped a small housing society to run everything apart from ACs on our

custom designed hybrid off grid system

I wish we could do more of those..but we are just volunteers working for a passion and

have jobs and families to attend to.

My dream is to start a bit of a revolution where individuals like us

could get togetger form a an NGO or something and help more and more people go off grid.

I mean if u wanna run an AC ..fine, go use grid power..but for everything else , come to us.

For very small one time expense ..we can get u cheap and clean power for life!

As a small example of the kind of products available., readers can study the Earth4energy website

but do write to me before u order nething ..not every product is suited

    to every need.

Readers can leave their comments here

I like biomass and biofuels as the best source of energy..
i feel that they are indirectly the cheapest source of enegry..

i also want our govt. to built gas chambers so that human excreta maybe changed into usable power fuel for home usage and other heavy works..
methane is a good source of energy..
Site from home gaya bhad mein... AIrtel se bolo FUP band kare.. BSNl se bolo 3G signal do!!!!>: (

I have seen on TV a live demonstration of a home made project where cow-dung was converted to first Bio-Gas and then the Bio-Gas was converted to CNG which was used to run a 3-wheeled Auto Rickshaw.

Think how much oil-bill can be saved if this is used at a larger scale.
