Ouch! Too expensive - if this was for one or two families, it would have been alright.

Next year they will expect the same thing - but this time filled with (real) diamonds, jewels, rubies, etc.

some small handicraft would be good. or a kilo of Rasmalai for each
family, I would love that gift ;-)

Sweets in India are kind of avoided now (well in India), because of the bad mixing and all and people complaining of having too much of sweets on Diwali, and plus its too common!

So that's why wanting to go for something different!

I saw a set of laughing buddha's which was Rs500, how would that be as a gift?? Or maybe a bamboo plant along with a small box of dry fruits?

i am jobless, so i cannot gift others.. but i am presented around 50kgs of sweets and dry fruits that i pass on to others...

Dry fruits is too common.

Laughing Buddha is fine.
