Recently the US researchers discovered in Mars soil, minerals which indicates that this planet had rivers, lakes and water which supported life. Phoenix Lander of Mars found frozen hard ice fully covered with red dust. It must have been left from its time when the planet was wet. Several other new things that are being discovered about Mars make the scientists go deep into their research to find if habitation was there on Mars in the past. Minerals on Mars show various wet environments. John Mustand of Brown University, Rhode Island is working on this study with his team. To identify the type of minerals, they are using the NASA’s Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter and the Compact Reconnaissance Imaging Spectrometer for having a closer view of the colors that gets reflected in sunlight.
