Sachin Tendulkar has become the highest taxpayer among the sportsperson in India by paying 1.5 crores for the last quarter of 2009 & stood at 115th position, ahead of Indian Cricket Team Captain MS Dhoni in the 500 top tax payer of the country list with the Finance Ministry.

Dhoni & Sehwag had paid Rs 1 crore each for the same period & stood at 199 & 201 positions respectively.

Other cricketers who got a position in the list are Saurav Ganguly (Rs 90 lacs) & Harbhajan Singh (Rs 70 lacs)

Film stars Akshay Kumar & Aamir are leading the individual highest tax payer from Bollywood industry. Akshay occupied the 25th position while Aamir is on the 26th. Both of the stars had paid whooping 4.5 crore each, edged past others in bollywood including Shah Rukh Khan & Hrithik.

Interestingly, Amitabh is missing for the 500 top payer list while Abhishek & Aish are on it!

Businessman Mahesh Gordhandas Garodia became the top tax payer in the country by paying Rs. 20 crore.
