Thread: Barista paid Rs. 1 Lakh as 'FINE'

One of the biggest coffee chain Barista was fined for Rs. 1 lakh by a consumer court as barista did not specify "What quantity of coffee is there in a mug/cup"?

As Barista serves coffee in non-transparent mugs, the consumer doesn't come to know how much coffee is in there. One of the consumers in New Delhi raised the question at the barista for which the manager doesn't had any answer.

The consumer filled a case against barista in the consumer court & the court announced the result in the favor of the consumer making barista to loose Rs. 1 Lakh. As per the court, the consumers got every right to know the quantity & the quality of the content.

Out of the 1 lac, Rs 20000 will be paid to the complainant while 80000 will go in consumer welfare fund.

so do i get more coffee now ??

or may be more compensations?

No , just an info on amount of volume of coffee that is provided by Barista in a cup.
