Default Planning to start Cyber Cafe where to start

I am planning to start an internet parlour in India just like Reliance and Sify Iway, may be their franchise. Is there anyone who is giving franchisee opportunity apart from Reliance and Iway in India start with, as they are already in our locality. I don’t want to start my own brand, but planning on a big brand to improve visibility. Can anyone suggest me or guide me on where to go and start?

    Lol @ Sify... http://www.indiabroadband.net/sify-b...big-no-no.html

I hate sify to bits and would never ever enter a sify iway either. Sify has given me so much hard time its just unbelivable.. On the night of Diwali one of sify customer service guys verbally abused me over the phone and nothing has been done till date..

I was disconnected for 3 days following diwali night and no compensation for it yet..

Sify are big time assholes and I would hate them for ever..

Take your franchise else where mate this forum is no place for sify to do business.. sort out my connection problems first then you can try getting customers here.

Thanx Admin for warning me. Anyways as I have told in my post itself, I am not looking for both Sify Iway and Reliance. I am planning for someone else who has this sort of plans to start with.

    Default Hosted CyberCafe Software

    Hi

Our below product may be useful to you while starting cybrecafes.

We are pleased to intimate you that we have recently launched a new product/service as 'iSign Cafe'.

iSign Cafe is a 'Software Service' designed to manage your CyberCafe (single or chain) or similar network with great 'ease of use'. This is NOT a traditional cybercafe software but a radically different (enterprise level quality) service delivered through Internet. There will be 'No CafeServer' inside your CyberCafe but all your PCs will be authenticated by our iSign Server. You will only install a small module in all clients. It is very sturdy and can NOT be crashed by any of your customer pranks (please make a try!!). Moreover, iSign Cafe comes with a RollBack Mechanism which resets the desktops during each login. This ensures clean, fresh, secured desktop experience to all your users.

    Thanks
    Murugan

    Dear XwhyZ

Hi Rakesh Mishra here I am also planning to start my own cyber cafe business in my recent purchased shop ( 400sq Feet) in Khanda Colony New Panvel It is located at good location in well developed market of colony Our neighbour shop are open and are doing good

My idea was to set cyber and appoint a person to operate it

I am basically NRI and comming India on interval of 5-6 month time

I am also thinking in the same direction where you are that i should have branded service provider like sify I way or reliance but now looking at the Iway experience shaired by Admin I wouldnt prefer to go for I way inspite of that we do have Iway in colony but it is far Sify and relience we dont have in near locality

Ok let us come to the point

I wish you take care of my cyber also along with your own
Profit shairing and other terms can be decided during our formal meeting

But we can think forword after confirmation of acceptance of offer

    Awaiting for your response

    Regards

    Rakesh Mishra

Cyber Cafe..... well you need a good espresso machine.
maybe some variety of coffees. A couple of decaf blends.
Maybe a couple of cute baristas behind the counter.

Starting a Cyber Cafe is a lot of headache these days. There are a lot of permissions to be obtained and police keep butting in because of security issues.

Cyber cafe is a bad business for today. Try some other pls. Security emfreakment. Lots of dedication. Pranks done by customers. Speed reliability. Cost. And now with all guys using the internet on mobile and advent of 3g cyber cafe is not profitable anymore(except mine) its very hard task to get permissions. Applications .troubles by Police(its their duty so i am not against it)and more anti social activities by anti National guys its hazard. And i had even banned particular guys. Guess whom .its business for tourist places like mine or where bb access is very less.

And forgot to add one more thing. You need to be an expert yourself .With your shopkeeping servant knowing some networking stuffs too(not everything) and that servant wont take anything less than 3k(isse kam me aajkal kya hota hai) the more you spend time on this business the more you will know how less profits you get per day. And you have to smiling to your customers everytime they visit. And you cant ask them why they were spending so much time and on what. I hate when guy and gal coming together. Thus i took off all doors from my cafe cabins and made everything visible. But still some rule breakers are there to try out my nerves.

    1. Mention your locality, is it under a municipality, corporation or a village ?

    2. How many PCs you want ? Do you like to use LCD monitors ?

    3. Mention the peripheral you are planning to accommodate ?

    a. Webcam, how many ?

    b. Print, copy, scan all in one. Available in different price range by different brands.

    c. Any gaming equipments ?

    4. Which all ISPs are available in your area ? How much data do you need per month ? Do you have any other cafe in your area ? If yes, any idea of the speed they offer ?

I think the procedure is just like starting another shop. You need permission from muncipality / corporation/ village office etc. First you need a good internet connection. BSNL is the cheapest option avialable. You can find plan s here

    Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd.

    BB Plan Selector

You can also check plans by local ISPs which can be at lower rate than national ISPs.

Then you need to share the connection with all PCs (you can start a thread on that in corresponding section of this forum or simply hire a networking guy).

    More on feedback.

I think you can ask for franchisee from MTN Africa..

Go through Google and search this 'How to start my own internet cafe business". plenty of guides there..

You will require lots of commitment, hardwork, and have to find new ways to satisfy your customers... for ex.. discounts on hourly/periodic usage by a frequent customer. et etc

All those planning on setting up a net cafe kind of thing... do you even know how much money such businesses make? I know one net cafe in central London where they have a few hundred computers and whenever I go there they are almost 60-70% occupied and that business still barely manages to run on break even (kind of no profit no loss)

There was a time in India back in the 90's when some people made money out of this but times have changed and people dont go to net cafe's any more and those who do wont in days to come!

Unless you are offering some other products or even a fast food joint to go with it you are not gonna get rich doing this business unfortunately. The capital involved (premises+ equipment) is just too much and then you sit there waiting for people to come.... Doesnt appeal to me!

Ya, it is heading towards the fate of telephone booths. May be you should offer gaming and courses in various high level languages. We can a cafe in our place, they mostly depend on pirated mp3 sales, scanning, printing etc. They also offer computer courses in tools like Photoshop and languages like C which the owner manages himself. They also offer internet and computer familiarisation course for students and middle aged people.
