Default Which is the best online shopping portal in India?

I personally feel that future bazaar is far better than other sites like indiaplaza, indiatimes shopping, rediff, and sify, etc. I felt the price of the products found at future bazaar is comparitively cheaper than other sites and they used to come up with cool offers every now and then.

You should try different websited for different products ... its not always a wise option to go to ebay for any product...

    for example

For Mobile handsets best is Flipkart.com

For Computer Products there are many such as TheITDepot.com or ITwares.com or Bitfang.com these are best as per my reasearch

For Electronics there are many like Letsbuy.com or Flipkart.com

For shoes its bestylish.com (they are showing commercials as well) and site is great as well

For watches ebay.in is good, Letsbuy.com also have watches..

I personally feel that indiatimes shopping and rediff and homeshop18 are not that good or have very limited product range....

Rest ebay.in is one stop solution but not always you get the best deal out of it...

I personally feel Shoppers Stop is the best online shopping portals in India. They have a huge collection of Indian traditional clothing/western clothing from various international/Indian brands and other accessories at affordable price. Currently, Shoppers Stop is running an offer under which, they are shipping all over India for free. Happy Shopping

I have had good experiences with Flipkart.com. Limited, so far, to books --- but has been enough to give me confidence to consider them for electronics/phone/etc.

I live within an easy drive of the IT Depot's original shop, so no need to buy online. Mixed experiences over the years, and also from others online, but within the past year I have spent a fair amount of money there, and found them much better than two or three years back.

Would never shop online for groceries, unless it was something very specialised otherwise unobtainable. Just ... the shops are not very far away! I believe in supporting local businesses. That includes the small traders and the bigger chains. Will not be supporting any of these FDI-retail companies if they come here.

There are so many online shopping sites from where one can do shopping at home. Online shopping becomes the most popular and easier way to do shopping as it saves a lot of time. Some of the online shopping sites from where I prefer to do shopping are eBay, amazon, myntra.

Flipkart is the best and most reliable online shopping site. They have even extended their avaliabilty of products and have included clothing and shoes for both men and women.
Another online shopping site which is good if you want to purchase clothes is Shoppersstop, least you know their products will be of good quality. Although their ae other sites like Jabong, Yebhi and Myntra, I dont quite know what their service is like so can not comment on them, but they do have a good variety of products.

I have been using Flipkart for some time now and never had a problem. I use their cash on delivery option and their delivery has always been prompt. I havent had much experience with other online shopping sites. My wife orders some supplies from baby oye and they some times take ages for delivering products besides some products being listed as available on their site which later turn out to be out of stock but we've never had major issue with them so we still use them.

I have also been using both flipkart and e-bay for a long time. Prices in e-bay are more than flipkart. Both sites work without any problem, delivery is faster in Flipkart.
But now Amazon is in India, they still only have a minimum products, but it is going to beat all ! Check out amazon.in
    Regards

Amazon.in only has books at the moment but it says on their website that they will soon have electronics items aswell. I would love to see a price war between all these online portals and Indians getting good prices just like their peers at USA or Europe

I am a very happy customer of Amazon, albiet Amazon.com and Amazon.co.uk. Amazon.in has books and movies only currently. But soon they will open other departments such as Apparel & Fashion, Food, Electronics, Mobile Phones, etc.

Amazon is not allowed to open a warehouse in India due to the FDI restrictions on multi-brand retail. That is a pity. If they were allowed to do so, that would be a big boon to consumers.

Any e-commerce websites which offer 14 or 30 days refund guarantee is where I prefer to shop online. Flipkart, Watchkart, Lenskart, and Ebay - all had been good to me. I've got the refund twice; from Watchkart and Ebay.

I never purchase from a site which offers 24 or 48 hours time to raise the refund request.

Also. I read the reviews about the delivery time, etc. on sites like mouthshut and Consumer Court Forum before purchasing from new online shopping portals.

P.S.: Great to hear that finally they started Amazon.in. They were just stuck with Junglee.com since a long time. This will open big time earning opportunities for Amazon affiliates from India.

I really hope that the government opens up 100% FDI in multi brand retail. It would wipe out monopoly and people would see what competetion could do to prices. This MRP crap is the reason we pay extra for everything. MRP in most people's opinion is the price a shopkeeper should charge where as in reality the MRP is the maximum a shopkeeper can charge and MRP is decided by the manufacturer and government has hardly got anything to with it. No other country has this system.

Completely agree about MRP. A bull **** crap system that has been looting consumers for years and continues to do so.

Yep, and MRP fluctuates on the mineral water bottles from 15 to 40 when we visit a multi-plex. I make it a point to have those road-side nariyal-pani before entering the theater. Still sometimes I need to have water after eating those pop-corns. Ah.. we're living in a Matrix!

    @ itsmemad

Try taking a few narials with you inside next time

Most beverage companies have different MRP labels for different vendors. Some have a little variation in size to avoid litigation some dont even bother with that.

I have used Jabong for a few clothing items, and their products were to standard, and they were as stated on their site. I used their COD (cash on delivery service), which I personally think is the best way to shop online. With all the card frauds going on you can not risk your money going down the drain.

I think there is another clothing online site called Yebhi and they have done something drifferent, and that is allowing the customers to try things on before purchasing them. So if you like 3 different pairs of shoes and want to purchase only one, you can order all three, when they arrive try them and pay for the one you like. This is a online portal which I am wanting try out.

Alot of people have mentioned Flipkart as one of the best online portals in India, and it is! Just recently Flipkart has announched that they will not deliver products over Rs10k in UP. The reason for this is that many people order products and then refuse to take them and some have done forgery by using someone elses credit card and debit cards.

I bought few things from FLIPKART and I am fully satisfied with their service. On comparing the prices with local market at Nellore, Flipkart price is only 75 to 80 percent.

I'm truly agreed with ckreddy45. Flipkart always provide u best deals with free home delivery and the main reason why i always go flipkart for online shopping caus they have cash on delivery system which is very useful for students like me who don't have credit cards yet.

The point is that drinking water is a basic amenity and they should provide a water-dispenser connected with aqua-guard or something at least if we can't carry our own bottles or narials inside! I had seen such water dispensers in Pune.. but not in Hyderabad!

I think Jabong is quite good, as they now have an option where you can order products and try them and choose the best one, and only pay for the one you want and return the rest.

Yes Ive heard Flipkart is also good, but I think they only sell electronics and gadgets.

When I I mentioned Jabong it was best in the sense that because they sell clothes and shoes you can try the shoes and apparels before purchasing them.

Popcorn - Flipkart now also sell clothing for men, women and kids along with shoes, but they dont have the trial option.

The option from Jabong is quite good, because 99% of the time you have to try a peice of clothing on or shoes before you purchase them, I bet this shot up their number of customers.

There are so many online shopping portals in India now, and they all sell a variety of products from clothes, cutlery, cosmetics, baby things, toys you name it. This has happened in the past 3 years and its grown a lot. But the only thing is whether we know we are getting the genuine product or not, which is why its important to purchase from a known and reputed site.

Flipkart used to be good, until they started using reseller companies. So instead of the products comings direct from their warehouse they come from the seller. It is not one seller but a list of sellers is shown for the same product and you choose the seller.

Even the site Yebhi used to be good, but now it has turned into an affiliate site. Smaller sites dont do as well because there are there are much popular and bigger sites which sell the same things like Jabong, Myntra etc.

For clothing Jabong is an excellent site, the products are if good quality and customer service is excellent. I agree with Sal's post that Flipkart at one point used to be good until they involved the selling companies.

Myntra is also not bad for shopping clothes and recently it got brought by Flipkart. But overall for clothes I think Jabong is the best, its a regular online shopping site at home with my sisters.

It was only yesterday that someone from the family received their product which they ordered online, and the quality was not good. I am beginning to get put off from online shopping simply because there is no guarantee of quality of the products.

    Hello Friends,

Best Online Shopping Sites in India

    1. Flipkart: Flipkart entered online marketplace by selling books but now they are India’s best online shopping portal. Now apart from books you can buy mobile phones & mobile accessories, laptops, computer accessories, cameras, movies CD /DVD, music systems, televisions, refrigerators, air-conditioners, washing-machines, MP3 players and several other products.

    2. Amazon - Amazon sells books, clothes, electronics & what not. They are very strong in terms of pricing in these categories Mobiles, Cameras, Watches & Ipods. They also have options like cash on delivery & EMI payments.

    3. Snapdeal: Snapdeal is not a new name in online space. They have a wide range of products that range from electronics to health & beauty, home & kitchen appliances, fashion, music, movies and games etc.

    Thanks

    3. Ebay
    4. Jabong
    5. Paytm
    6. Snapdeal (extremely poor customer care and dispute resolution)
