Default Tomatoes selling at Rs100 per kilo

Where is this economy headed? I wonder if any one of you have paid much attention that until 6-7 years ago tomatoes could be bought for less then Rs10 a kilo in off season. I wonder why such high prices suddenly. If there would have been large stores with good distribution channels then these prices would not shoot up so high. Tomatoes for Rs100 a kilo? Thats a bit too much really.

Do you go sabji shopping? really?
Yes Rs80-90 but not 100 yet. I find it costly and what about those people who are paid daily wages like 200Rs a day? It must be very tough to just make food available to the family these days. Government is coming with food security bill so not sure if that would cover tomatoes.

Not just tomatoes but everything is going through the roof. I wish the government would do something about this inflation.

If this goes on I may have to start having all three of my meals at the local Gurdwara The dal they serve is excellent. Any one been to the Gurdwara at Tilak nagar in Delhi? I make it a point to go and have a few dinners there every month. Not because it is free but it just tastes better then anything money can buy. I am not a Sikh but those guys make me feel welcome and Ive never felt out of place there.

That is my solution to inflation ha ha ha

You go anywhere in the market even to buy the smallest of things you end up spedning the minimum of Rs500 atleast. By the time your home, so many of the Rs500 notes have been spent!
