Rep Power: 2 | It seems that the present indian government is trying to divert attention with such moves. They are going to introduce mobile phones at Rs. 500 for Common Man. You cannot get any cheaper than this. There are lots and lots of other burning issues in the country and what's the need of brinding down the price of mobile phones, instead they should try and bring down the raising prices of various commodities. |

Rep Power: 12 | I don't know where you got this information from but in my opinion if this Rs500 is without any subsidy involved then thats the best thing that has ever happened to the telecoms industry in India. Better communication means more and better business and more business clearly translates into more tax revenue for the government and a richer government can do a lot more then it is doing right now I would love to see India become a full fledged welfare government like UK and Canada and a few more countries. Its just the governments wealth which enables them to carry out welfare schemes like they do in those countries. Indian government pays something like Rs400 or something like that as old age pension which wont even buy you a good meal in a restaurant these days and in UK you can live a decent life with an old age pension. |
