Thread: Broadband over power line??

I read this article recently and was surprised to see that broadband through power line, i wonder how is this feasible. What is the technology, etc. How is the speed. Is it similar to broadband through phone line or cable, very curious!

This is indeed very much possible; basically it will something similar to data over voice used in ADSL technology.

The issue will be regarding safety of handling such connections because of high voltage.

Already there exists technology and devices in US where they are selling high frequency devices that repel pests such as ants, termites, bugs, etc. The device is a simple plug-it-in gadget. Once plugged in the device sends high frequency sounds over the electrical cables throughout the house. The high frequency is extremely painful to the pests and they simply stay away.

The point is if this device can work (via frequency duplexing) then braodband can also work.

i hope the ISP will not suggest its cliients to use rubber gloves while surfing kidding..........

No idea. But it is an advertised product in the company's website. So they do not publish the date.
