You really seem to have a rather impressive movie collection and many of the movies mentioned here are my all time favorite. I would really love to download most of these movies if available for free anywhere else! Really cool collections!

207 movies.......woot......how much time u spend in watching all movies.....assuming 2 hour movie on avg.....u spent 17 days non stop in watching them.......well so far i have watched only like 7-8 movies in my whole life........

Almost 90% these movies were purchased and not downloaded. There are only a handful movies (about 15) that are taped from TV. The rest are all original DVDs or VHS tapes. Whenever I travel abroad, I buy about 15/20. The whole collection is easily worth Rs. 1.75 lakhs (considering an average price of $18 per movie). 'Friends' and other TV serials are boxed sets - e.g., 10 boxed sets for each season of 'Friends' at $34 each.

I started collecting from 1998 in earnest.

207 movies.......woot......how much time u spend in watching all movies.....assuming 2 hour movie on avg.....u spent 17 days non stop in watching them.......well so far i have watched only like 7-8 movies in my whole life........

Oh! I watch them from time to time. I am a big movie fan. But nowadays instead of going to a multiplex and spending over Rs. 700/800, I just buy the DVD. I watch it at home on my projector.

Ahh! It is a hobby. There can be no price on that. The money spent has been evenly spread over that last 10 years.

I used to do some video collage stuff - collecting famous lines and scenes (no more than 1 minute) - and making it into one collage. For example, I am now collecting all the "How you doing?" Joey lines from Friends (also available on YouTube by someone else - I am replicating the same in High Resolution).

But, I don't get much time from work and travel.

Not really. I have seen people (in US, UK) having over 1000 titles. I don't know what they do - buy each and every DVD?

I have 986 movies currently and growing - so I won't list them all! I love watching movies, too. I think it is awesome to have a huge collection. My friends are also asking to borrow movies, I am practically a rental store. I used to use a desktop app. to keep track of my movies, but a friend invited me to this site to:

It was what I had been missing all my life! I highly recommend it. You can catalog your dvds "ala Blockbuster style" by browsing box shots and clicking the add button. You create your collection online with all of the detailed information, too. THEN... you can invite friends and build a network! So, you can see your friends' movies and compare collections. There are even cool features for borrowing and tracking, that type of thing. Which is awesome for me. No more people saying, "Do you have this? Or this? How 'bout that?" I just tell everyone to make their requests through my collection. It is brilliant.

Nice to see you collecting so many good movies over a period of time. Hobbies whether reading books.or watching movies or gardening/stamp collecting --
