    Hello Friends,
Thanks a lot for all your invaluable suggestions. Today I have reached at a point where I can brief you ppl about the proceedings. Sorry for the wait.

I was in a discussion with a ICICI bank customer representative. He replied to me after reading my post in some other forum. He was using official mail id for communication, so I believed him.

He asked me if I want a settlement with the bank. Since I am out of India, so this seems an easy option to me instead of going to the courts. At that moment, total outstanding was double of the actual transaction. On behalf of ICICI bank collection team, this representative offer me to pay half of the outstanding amount and close the credit card account. I agreed and made the payment.

Seems that the problem is going to be solved, but there was more drama left in the story. I did not receive any official word from the bank. I mailed few times to this representative, who asked some more time again and again. After payment I received two monthly bills, outstanding again started increasing. At this point of time this guy has stopped giving any reply as he never existed. I felt betrayed.

I raised a ticket in ICICI bank. It seems to wake them up. They credited back some late fee, interest and service charges twice. I don't understand their calculation, but in the third bill, there is an outstanding of Rs. 1.33.

Now I have been informed that no statements will be generated in future for this account. But on the other hand, they request me to confirm if I want to cancel this credit card account. Last statement is surprising. I am going to compose a reply to them.

Do I need to request a new card if possible(there are many benefits of this Platinum card)? I know the answer is 'NO'. :confuse:
Do I need some proof of no dues even after this last bill?

This is my story. My thanks to you friends again for your support.

Thank GOD your issue is resolved.

ICICI bank sucks big time... the nearest Dwarka branch I have a bank account with Ive been there 7-8 times in total in the last 2 years and every single time their servers were down.
You might call me unlucky but I know anything less then 99% uptime for a bank server would make it worse then uptime of our forum We are far better then icici bank then in that respect then eh?

I echo same feelings about ICICI. The bank is good only till things are going on automatically - i.e., your salary/cheques getting credited, ATM withdrawals, Net Banking, etc.

Woe betide you if you need to walk to the bank to get some queries/problems/issues resolved. Things go haywire as soon as you take up the token number.

    1. There are bunch of 25 year olds wearing a smart uniform. They have no idea of banking transactions.
    2. These young chaps have no authority to do anything. They call the same help desk that we call - albiet they have direct access and do not have to go thru confusing menu choices.
    3. Since everythings is centralized, there is no local control.
    4. The people at the bank seem to change every five/six months. There is no personal touch.
    5. I had to send a draft to my uncle at Amravati, MH and bank said that there is no branch out there. Amravati is the second biggest town in Vidarbha after Nagpur.

However, the net banking is one of the best I have seen.
*** Never argue with an idiot. ***
