I will recommend BE in electronics.........in my opinion electronics is more advanced and interesting too......rest is upto you what you are interested in.

If i were you I would have chosen electronics but......i would look after B.tech rather than BE...

you see its upto you what you have to choose especially in which you are interested in.There are three main core branches in the field of engineering i.e.
Electrical/Electronics
Mechanical and,
Civil

If you pursue your engg. from the above mentioned branches then there is no need to worry for your future. Every now and then you will have a job around you.....

Try to find out some colleges that are offering Bachelor in Technology....it is more updated and advanced but..........afterall in the end it depends on your own skills and smartness that will take you to the sky

Well, Both are very very different branches of Engineering. First of all, you need to ASK YOURSELF what you really want to do in life. Any engineering degree will give you a job which can pay you handsome money. But, the point is about enjoying the work you do, and so, you have to find out what you love most.

Why I say this is, I was confused, just like you when I almost made up my mind that I will do engineering, and then i chose to do B Tech in Mechanical Engineering. I had consulted a lot of seniors, people who worked in several fields etc before making my decision, and thought that Mechanical Engineering had several advantages over the others and so i joined the second best college in my state, Kerala.(The best is an REC/NIT, which was full, of course )

While I did the course, those 4 years taught me one thing, that I didn't really love Mechanical Engineering! Though I did not have much problems in understanding the concepts or getting marks in it. I kinda got my interest in computers, and I started to learn that too(well, not from class-room, on my own). And I found that I had real good interest in designing, visualising, photography, writing etc. Well, and finally when I was in the 3rd year(when the campus interviews came in), I did not appear in most and I just spend those last 2 years on playing football and in the luxury of being lazy. After college, I was still confused on what to do in life, what kinda job should I do and I spend some time thinking. ( 3-4 months). Then, I came to bangalore and thought I will just do any kinda job and so, I worked for one year a technical support for Apple. I took that job only for the love of computers and particularly the curiosity about Apple Macs. Then I quit the job as I lost interest, then I spend 4-5 months thinking on what I should do and meanwhile I was doing photography as a hobby and well, now, I am a photographer plus a Football Writer plus a Content Writer plus a Film Script writer. And, well, after 3 years of completing my Mechanical Engineering degree, I am now planning to do higher studies on 3 things I have found to be the best I love to do - Football (Writing/Admin), Movies (Scripting/Cinematography) and Photography (Advertising/Product)

Why did I tell you my experience?

That is for you to understand yourself, on what you love most in your life and take choices according to that. Or else, you would someday just lose the vision and stop mid-way. If you don't have a clear idea on what you love, well, "Keep Looking. Don't Settle" . I am still unsure if these are the things I love most, maybe one day I might come back to Mechanical, who knows. So, well, if you are limited in your choices, go ahead with the one nearest to you, but go with full focus. You might need to trust on something, and strongly believe that whatever field you choose, whatever way you go, somehow in the future, everything will turn around to be good for you.

as abhilash has explained, what matters most in your life, is enjoying whatever you do, your job. It is often said that "Do what you love, or else have to love what you do" I didn't know abc of computers when I took IT as my stream in engineering. I didn't how to power on a computer too. It was like, every top rankers took either EC or IT and I hated EC. Choice left was IT.

But then internet was getting popular. I was first interested in the "get paid to read emails", get paid to signup kind of stuff. I was spending hours on internet spending around Rs. 100 per hour. I went to every nook and corner of internet (as deep as *they* allowed me to see and feel) and I got 6 supplimentaries in the first year of engineering.

Those failures made me control myself on my craziness over internet. I started learning more technical (google was my best friend) and after my engineering, it was my knowledge of the internet which fetched me a job. I now run a web hosting and design firm with a few like minded partners.

Looking back, I never needed an engineering background to run a web hosting firm, but the knowledge I gained from the engineering course is definitely helping me technically, in understanding the concepts better. Afterall "Education is what survives, when what has been learned has been forgotten".

I would advise you to do EC, becuase as far as I feel, EC and Mechanical are the foundation of any engineering. All other branches are derivatives of these two.
