now that is some nice info in this thread... hope u win it admin... and i thought whirlpool was good... good thing any of my whirlpool things haven't had a problem as yet... i have 4 of their products, two washing machines, an ac and a 170l or something fridge... ....

good thing u went to court admin.. now i've got a way to deal with such injustice.. Thanks a lot!

That might be because your stuff must be made in Brazil... now they have started manufacturing here... actually buying from other manufacturers and putting their own brand name on it..

yes they are all imported units (not sure bout the fridge tho)... i guess thats why they are working... and if they are now being manufactured by videocon then oh boy are we going to be taken for a ride...!

yes.. i always thought the whirlpool things to be good, but after reading the post by mr admin the things are changed in mind..

i think he is absolutely right in saying this..

I too had bought a whirpool fridge and had problems within a week. It took a few dozen phone calls before they picked up the fridge for repairs. And finally they replaced the fridge with a new one.

By contrast the previous 20+ years godrej fridge was working fine without any problems...

My dad used to say that stuff which are sold at the special sales eg new year etc tend to have poor quality stock coz of the discount etc.. maybe its true as well..

And whenever possible he tries to avoid american co's as well as chinese products and prefer UK/European make ones...

Admin deserves a rep

Today Whirlpool delivered a cheque for Rs28750 which includes the price I paid for the fridge and Rs7000 compensation ordered by the consumer court.
The fridge is gone and Ive got the cheque Happy days... although 7k isint a great amount but imagine if every consumer stopped taking for granted companies like whirlpool would learn a lesson which they wont forget ever and start treating Indian consumer with some respect.

So another fridge in a day or two

Vodafone tried to play with me about an year ago regarding wrong billing, after claiming and even escalating it to there nodal officer there was no joy. They called me on my alternative number and i just provided them hint of consumer court and got the all mis billed amount waived within 48 hours.

I am glad that Whirlpool "came around" albiet by stick method.

I too have a Whirlpool fridge. But I am going for Godrej or Voltas next time.

Just thought I would update this thread

I bought a Samsung 345 litres fridge and its been working perfectly find ever since... is 5 star rated and has separate temperature controls for freezer compartment and the fridge.

I am not claming that samsung is the best or better then the rest or anything like that but its a thousand times better then Whirlpool.


Ever since this episode happened I must have prevented more then 20 people from buying different whirlpool products Every little helps as they say..

Samsung is best

We too are going on all Samsung buying this year, from appliances (just except the LCD which is of L.G )to mobiles. its all samsung....
