There is no point buying a 2 ch.. It would be a waste of money... Get a 3-4ch atleast
I would not completely agree to that as 2ch as can be a lot of fun and they are not as expensive as 3-4 ch ones.I started with a 2ch palm size Heli, the best thing about it is its indoor and lot of fun so you don't have to worry about winds n all also if you apply a little bit of wight on the nose of the heli(supplied with the package) it gets a default forward flight which you can controll with the left and right steer. I have got 4 of them after breaking a couple and I use the broken ones for spareparts now. I think absolute beginers should start with 2ch heli preferrably a palm size. It really helps learning the higher models
Thoughts ??

Amit
Hi,
I am very delighted to join this community. I recently got a
"Exceed-RC G2 3D Z400 Belt-Driven 6-Channel Radio Remote Controlled RC Helicopter" and was wondering if I can get some basic knowledge on RC flying. I am an amateur in the RC world, but always had a flair to fly RC objects. Kindly let me know if you guys have started meeting somewhere. I would be more than happy to be a part of this group. Also let me know if you have some basic material that helps me get started in the RC flying world.
Thanks in advance.
Nikhil.
If someone is interested in Pune, my friend Dr. Ravi Joshi, who owns and runs Joshi's Museum of Model Railways sells RC helicopters in their shop.
Gladly.
Dr. Ravi (we just call him Ravi) is my classmate from college. We studied at Fergusson College, Pune. Ravi's father ran a small scale factory manufacturing industrial relays, actuators, thermo-sensors, etc. Ravi's father's hobby was to collect model railway units that he acquired while studying in Germany.
After a careful collection of over 20 years, they held an exhibition by making a miniature town with a model railway in Pune. It ran for 15 days. The response was overwhelming and they held another exhibition 2 years later. The successes of the shows encourage them to have a permanent hosting. So they built a large hall in their home dedicated to this miniature railway musuem. This entire history is there on the website. Sadly Ravi's father passed away soon (a year later after the museum came into existence).
Now Ravi is running the factory and the museum. He gets contracts from Indian Railways as well as people abroad to make model railways. But the unfortunate truth is that our machinery is no match for the electronic sophistication of the west. Importing high cost CNC machines can be justified if the orders are large and steady.
Some of the model engines are extremely costly - for example, the DB (Deutche Bundesbahn) ICE train set costs €1500 easily.

Hi Admin,
This is Nikhil again. I sent a message on this forum on Friday as well. I would like to see your help on the basics of RC flying.
Kindly see my previous message and acknowledge the same.
Thanks and regards,
Nikhil.
Hi Nikhil,
Sorry about this late response... to be honest I am not a pro and I am only good at breaking helicopters. I am now fed up of buying newones every now and then so will try my luck with planes as I have heard that they are lot less prone to accidents and as you may already know that they also cost a lot less then the helicopters.
The latest one I have broken is an esky belt cp and this is not the first one I have broken ... I do not come back home untill the machine is destroyedI have heard people saying that one or two sorties are good for a day coz any more and you end up with an accident but its just too much fun and I am never able to come back home untill I convert the heli into scrp
I think you should visit these guys on sunday some time and get some advice from the guys who been flying helicopters for years now and dont always bring back broken helicopters like I do![]()
I will surely visit his museum once I return to Pune...![]()
Gr8. Do click some pics!!
Yeah... If I'll be allowed... Maybe J4X can do me that favor...![]()
i am also coming for that.. mohit lets make a plan in dec to meet there in pune![]()
Sure man... We'll rock in pune... 1st lemme get back there... then I'll inform ya...![]()
