    Default RC Flying club India

I spent almost a week looking for a gorup of people or a RC flying club in India and found that there is nothing of that sort here in India so I think there is room for a RC flying club in India in different cities.

I would like to know how many of you own or plan to own a RC plane or a RC Helicopter doesnt matter if its nitro or battery operated as these days battery operated ones are also capable of 3d acrobatics and have flying times in excess of 30 mins if you use a 3300Mah battery and 2200 in case of lighter planes and choppers.

I hope I get some response and we can start meeting up somewhere in or around Delhi say every month for starters and then may be every weekend if we are able to gather a big crowd

By the way I ordered my first 3d capable belt driven tail rotor helicopter yesterday and I am very excited about it it should arrive in 10 days or so. Its an ESKY 6CH 3d capable helicopter the model is : ESky-E013

Would love to hear from those who fly one of these.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------

I ordered my helicopter from hobbyjapan2000.com and made a payment using paypal and they have sent me an e-mail asking me why am I asking for delivery to India when my paypal billing address is from UK

I am on a long vacation here in India.. have replied to them with a little clarification ... hopefully I will get my heli soon

RC = Remote controlled or radio controlled in this case.

This hobby is not very wide spread in India yet but its catching up.

This is what the helicopter I have ordered looks like :

    Check out this video

YouTube - Belt CP : GROS CRASH N°2 DANS LES ARBRES!!!!!!! :-(

This chopper weights almost 3 quaters of a kilo and is capable of extreme acrobatics but needs a lot of practice to perform such stunts as shown in the video.

i would like to have one but where is the place to fly them ?
In Bangalore no space and to go far out of city needs lot of traffic fighting,
any way i think i am not really trying hard as they say "where there is will, there is way"

how much does these planes cost? i am guessing that they are very expensive

A 4 channel helicopter is what you need if its your first one as they are easy to fly for beginers and that would cost you anything from $70 to $300 depending upon the features and quality of parts used like brushless motors and carbon fiber body and all that.

You dont need very large space for flying a helicopter.. You can fly them in your near by park and I normally fly very early in the morning like 4:30 to 5:30 when every one is sleeping and there is no one to stare at you and that gives a little excercise as well.

    Default RC flying Club

    Hi All,

my name is Amit, I recently got a 6ch Honeybee CP2 shipped from Honkongkong I stay in Delhi and I realy liked the idea of getting togather on a weekend and fly, cause its really not so much fun flying around people who don't understand the passion also i think it will be great learning for beginers like me to get a hang of these awsome compact real flying machines

I am at New Delhi as well I have been flying 4ch for some time but this is going to be my first 6ch helicopter

It would be great if we can atleast make a group of 10 and have a get together at some park on weekends and see more experienced pilots fly their rc helis and learn a trick or two in the process.

By the way Dwarka has some very good places to fly helicopters and even planes if youve got some real fast ones as there are a few very big parks with nice pavements which can be used as landing strips

Even during the day you would hardly find any one there so there wont be a problem of people gathering just to have a look at our stuff which is what happens in crowded places and it creates a mockery out of the heli or whatever you are flying.

Wanted to know where do you stay in new Delhi as I stay in Vikaspuri west Delhi. Its good to knowl that you have some experience on flying a 4ch heli cause I have been stuck with only 2ch(Syma Dragonfly) and a 3ch coaxial(battery blown up) till this time and now I went straight for a 6ch as i was getting it shipped from abroad, where did you find a 4ch in New Delhi please let me know if there is good cheap shop for these as i need to get one repaired as well, just curious to know what all machines do you have

    I have

    1. Syma 2ch Dragonfly heli
    2. 2 palm size heli's
    3. 3ch coaxial heli (not working any more battery bllown up)
    4. Angel 2ch plane
    5. wowee flytech dragonfly
    6. 6ch Honeybee Cp2

You get the 2ch ones easy but it takes a lot to find anyrhing above 2ch in New Delhi, I got my 3ch from South Delhi

I live about 5 mins drive from your place at Uttam nagar. I dont know of any shops in Delhi and I believe there are no shops selling good rc stuff here in Delhi or anywhere in India.

I have ordered this new Esky from a website but still havent recieved it yet, hopefully in a day or two may be.

I have got just these and both of them are broken

    RAH-66 Co-Comanche
    Lama V4

I am hoping that this new heli will last a little longer then the previous ones.

Credit cards and some of them also take paypal payments but it needs to be from a verified account.
There are some sellers on ebay as well but their prices are just too high

For a beginner it is better to go for low ended models. I think RC planes are easier to control than choppers and less sophisticated too.

The leading electronics magazine "electronics for you " is also supplying some models of RC helicopters .

The helicopter for sale on the page you have provided a link to is something very very basic... the only controls you will have on this chopper are up/down rotate left/right and you cannot even move it farward or backward or even left or right although having a left right thing doesnt make sense on a chopper which wont move farward.

This is called 2 channel and if you want the real thing then you need atleast a 4 channel machine.

I have never flown a plane so no India if they are easier to fly then helicopters or not. My be some other members can give their inputs on this.

I got the opportunity to undergo a course in aeromodeling and operated RC and thread controlled planes. Thread controlled models (cheaper cost less than 1800/-) with fuel engine (eather or petrol as fuel) are good for beginners . RC planes are much costlier than choppers.
Since it is a costliest hobby, better to get some practice on low ended models.

    Default RC planes VS heli's

Well I think both high end Planes and Heli's are equaly difficult to fly however basic Rc planes are eaiser to fly than Heli's again you need lot of space to fly planes on the other end you can do with a small park or a indoor place for a heli's so both have their pros and cons Heli's are more prone to damage than planes, planes have fewer parts and can repaired if broken (with rubber glue) where as Heli's have small parts if broken they are lost
Mr Admin post some pics of the broken heli's lets see what seems to be the problem with those may be I or someone on the forum can help you fix them

My first helicopter was an Esky Lama V4 which is a coaxil 4 channel helicopter and I believe is a very good start and it doesnt cost too much either.

Dont spend too much on your first helicopter coz crashes do happen and they happen more often then not I have not come across anyone who havent broken 3-4 helicopters beyond repair.. crashes are an integral part and this is what makes this hobby a bit costly.

I dont have those two broken choppers here with me.. they are in UK. both of them just need rotar blades both main and tail.

This page : BananaHobby - 4-CH Beginner RC Helicopters has a lot of 4ch rc helicopters listed with prices but this site doesnt have the best prices so if you like a chopper there just take down the model no and details and google other sites to get the best price.
