If you want TV via Internet, Airtel, Reliance, BSNL and MTNL are offering IPTV but I will not suggest it:

- the connection needs to be stable
- IPTV will work only where the connection is installed

i know i also dont trust much.. but i just wanted u ppl 's poll.. i think its bogus..and any way.. if genuine also.. i think v cant affford.. becaus for tht v shud have unlimited plans.. or cheap internet.. which is there in abroad country.. tht too very fast high speed.. they can relish all this facilities..not india plz.. lol imao

I have broadband both at home and at my office. I use a product called a "Slingbox" to broadcast my TV across the internet to my office! Picture isn't perfect but it is nice to be able to catch the news or a program from my DVR at my office PC.

slingbox is free?? provide a link.. and how much internet transfer it eats up????????? i mean if u keep seeing online videos... it must have heavy transfers... bill will go high...

If you use internet to broadcast TV to your PC then you are using bandwidth.

If your doing it over local LAN then it is intranet - in this case you are not using bandwidth.

IPTV does not use your internet bandwidth - it is totally different and has a separate tariff rate.

The box costs money but it's a one time fee. It does use up bandwith so I recommend an unlimited plan before you use it. It's nice in my house though because I can watch my tv in another room on my laptop via my wireless connection.

IPTV is something which is really not suggested or good option in india... coz right now we dont have any good tech or clear picture for IPTV plans and there are many known problems with it...

better to go for cable STB or something like Tata sky or Dish TV

@smoothvibes... u r correct.. right now i m paying 250 per month.. using local cable line.. i dont know tariffs abt tata sky.. dish tv.. and all.. can u plz tell me how much it will cost me.. like tariffs ?? i think it will anyway will be costly than my cable 250 per month. and on top i have 3 tv at home.. so i have to pay more in all such tv channels provider.. here i m just paying 250... running all 3 tvs .. thru this.. lol... though not so clear.. but basic saas bahu.. comes.. mom n all watches all tht.. nothing more usually.. if more. then news.. thts it.. i rarely see tv..!!!!!.. tell me according to u if any nice channel provider.. with good service responce.. also..

Milan here i suggest you not to go for IPTV if you want you can go for Tata Sky or Dish TV.. both are good...

and just4kix used the words internet and intranet to provider you a better picture of the same... internet is one which is world wide web and interanet is your local network.. where you share things and resources inside an organistation or inside a limited boundry

also check out ndtv.com. they also have a live streaming TV section for ndtv24/7 and its hindi version.though it dosen't work that good during the day time.but very late nights or very early mornings,it works like a charm.

i use crictime.com it also has 7 servers..
