Thread: Are people nice?

Are people nice in Bombay? Or should I be on guard all the time, thinking everyone is trying to scam me?

What do you mean? Anywhere and everywhere there are good people and bad people. You must be on guard against bad people. You cannnot classify bad people with Mumbai (Bombay) or any other place (India or elsewhere).

I also remember you making similar comments about traffic in India - if you are paranoid about this I will advise you to stay where you are.

The golden rule when you travel is : Stick to places with repute and do not mingle with the locals to an extent where you start trusting some one.. thats where you get scammed.

Just dont go for anything which sounds is too good to be true coz its most likely not true.

My rule of thumb is that people are nice everywhere in the world if you are nice and polite to them. Make sure you read up on customs before you travel to another country because what is considered polite in one country can be considered an insult in another. Never overly trust anyone you don't know to the point that it can put you or your finances in jeopardy.

No matter where you go in the world you will always find people who are good and people who are bad. Its up to you to stay alert and stay focused, cause you don't want anyone cunning or cheating you.

I agree here... that place and region hardly makes any difference, it depends upon you how you behave and whats your nature.. i have seen mostly each n every part of india and can not feel any difference apart from language, climate, food and outfits. People are same everywhere...

I agree with prasanna here.. this is not the first time you are trying to make fun of india...
I understand india is a land of snake charmers and we still go to temple and pray, fold our hands while watching ramayna... but still would like to tell you here its just the heritage and moral values of indians to be polite and respect everyone..

I request you Oigen not to post such baseless things which simply hits on our country

Well said. Stereotypes of countries and their people are bad things. There are good and bad people in every country all over the world.

I think its up to us....stay away from bad people......keep in contact with good ones..But make sure you make the desicion fast
