Thread: Why is this so??

Hello every1... today i noticed, after going to a (sikh owned) shop that i haven't seen any sikh who smokes cigarettes!? Is there some rule in their religion that forbids them from smoking cause till date i haven't come across any proper sikh (with the turban n all) who was smoking a cigarette.

I'm not saying its bad that they don't smoke or anything, neither am i trying to hurt their religious sentiments here. Actually its very good that they don't have the damned habit who has gripped millions in India and all over the world.

Does any1 here have experience to the contrary?

yes, you are right. According the "Gurugranth Sahib" no sikh is allowed to smoke..neither he can chew tobacco

means tabocco is forbided in Sikhism

you know Khalsa is fifth largest religion in the world

ya according to guru granth sahib sikhs are not allowed to smoke or to fall in any bad habbit, there is one more true thing about sikh religion that you can not find even a single sikh beggar not even in punjab which is full of sikh people, sikh can be a rickshaw puller or conductor but can never beg

come to delhi and check you can not find even a single sikh beggar
