OK, Folks. Yesterday was probably the first day since I joined the forum that I did not login to the forum at all. Naturally I missed some fun. But I am still surprised to see myself on 3rd postion in the stats list.
As you know yesterday was 9/11 and I decided to pay some respects to the martyrs by having a 'pen down' or 'keyboard off'. How is that for a token?
Just kidding guys. 9/11 victims do need to be paid homage but I cannot afford to do it without sacrificing a leave. So my car decided that it was time something should be done. So while driving to office yesterday morning, my clutch cable pin snapped. Consequently I had to tow the car to the nearest Hyundai workshop and get emergency repairs done.
The supervisor told me that my car clutch was too tight and plates had worn off. He said I could stay at the workshop till the work was done or return later in the evening. Now the hassle of going back home (office was more or less ruled out) - a good 25 km away and returning back in the Pune traffic and not to mention the cost of rickshaw (with half return charges because the workshop is outside Pune city limits) was too daunting.
Consequently I spent a wonderful 8 hours or so at the Hyundai workshop, admiring the facilities, drinking tea from a machine, watching TataSky on the TV, etc., etc. My home BSNL connection is still down and in any case when I returned home at 8:15, I had to rush thru the 'aarti' of Ganeshji and then a family dinner at Pune Youth Club Gymkhana.
Oh, to the people who are intersted in minute details, it cost me Rs. 5827.69 for the repairs:
a) Clutch cable assembly, and clutch plates+others: Rs. 2580.89
b) Oil seal + Oil: Rs. 366.07
c) Labour + Wheel Alignment: Rs. 990/-
d) VAT @ 12.5% on parts (Rs. 2946.96): Rs. 368.37
e) Service Tax @ 12.36% on Labour: Rs. 122.36
f) Towing charges: Rs. 1400/-
