    Default Which UPS to buy?

My UPS's (Microtek) battery is gone.I enquired abt replacing the battery. But its coming around Rs 800~1000. So, Iam plannig to buy a new one. Thought of buying new UPS. I thought of buying Microtek. But one of my friend said to buy APC UPC (APC - Country Selection Page).
Kindly suggest me a good UPS.

APC is good but any new UPS will cost you Rs. 2000+. Why are you reluctant to replace the battery? If UPS circuit is good not need to buy new one. And yes, battery cost is as per market rate and correct.

    Hi,

As far as I know, APC is the best one in India and the costliest too.

I bought Numeric for its service network and it is not as costly as APC.

    Kind regards,
    Pothi Kalimuthu.

The battery will have more life if u buy a genuine one never worry about it being damaged in 6 months
Then wat if battery of new one goes in 6 months
    Never think like that

Buy branded batteries(I prefer Camelion. I dont know whether it is available ther) of same voltage and power rating

    Replace it yourself

    Just open the UPS cover
    Remove old battery
    Replace by new one

U will find it ll only cost u about Rs.400-500 (according to power rating)
U will also have to work for 10 minutes

It is quite easy than u think

APC brand is better because the brand has become synonymous with quality power back-up and management solutions.

Hmmm. My UPS is more than 6 years old (I think it is APC). I changed the battery once - cost Rs. 900.

If UPS is working fine and battery is gone, just replace the battery with a good branded one.

3 or 4 years ago. The battery life is typically 3-4 years.

Been using APC for a long time.... no issues

1 way to make your UPS last longer is to always keep the power supply to ur UPS ON 24/7 .... No there r no risks .. i do that ...
