    Default Rights

Do you think that women have the same rights as men do, because generally i have seen that when a couple get married, things are different for the man and different for the women. And the difference normally appear only after marriage. (i saw these things happen to someone who i know, so know this still happens)

Men can always go out when ever they want, do what they want, where as women have to always ask, are restricted to what they can do.
A man can go out with friends and drink and come home late, women are generally stopped.
Men can smoke but if a woman does its bad.
Women generally have to stop thinking about their ambitions and literally kill them, where as the man can do what he feels and accomplishes his dreams and ambitions.

I only create threads like these cause i find the discussions very interesting and like to hear views from both men and women. Nothing personal to anyone.

I know in most of the cases this thing happens but i really oppose this trend and belive to provide same status to women.
I never stopped my sister from doing late nite shift or going out with friends or talking to her boy friend (with whome she got married) and really think that it should not happen. My mom is working from last 27 years and infact my dad never tried to stop her.
Even i will do the same (if i'll get married)... same stauts for everyone and gender hardly makes any difference.

For me only stupid people do this who don't trust there own partners.

Well , yes there is no denying such things happen....But i think as education spreads slowly these things start to fade away ...I cant thing of an educated person subscribing to such orthodox and stiff necked ideas ....So i guess we have to give it some time .....Slowly society will change its outlook

thats an overstatement...coz i know many educated men who try to curb their wife's talent..whether its due to insecurity or lack of trust or superiority i dont know.

in fact i had a male classmate in college who swore he that he dint want a working wife watever happened..
as guessed all the girls in college hated him for that.

Wow thats news to me....Well i am lucky to have never crossed paths with such guys ...All of my married friends have working wives who have equal and sometimes more rights than their husbands....

And my non married friends dont have any such ideas either ....
