thanks gurusam.. for apprciating my avtar..

@preety.. u wanna have ortho treatment.. done.. and whitening treatment... for your teeth...

1st of all.. i know guys are not suppose to ask gals age.. but in my profession many things are related to age.. now u wanna get your teeths... aligned.. can u plz tell me wats your age??? actually how much money it will cost u.. thts smomething depends on dentist and your choice of getting treatment.. and your type of dentition..(means teeth)
tell me your age.. atleast i will tell u wether the treatment is possible in u or not..and.. y u wanna do it?? basiclly only for esthetics?? or like getting marrried? or any other oral problems>> acccording to tht i can suggest u.. whether to go for the treatment or not...

sparkling.. again... if u dont have yellowish tinge of your teeth or stains.. i advise u not to have it done..
there is a treatment. called bleaching of teeth.. by these u can make your teeth sparkle.. but again.. it all depents on patients likeness.. many ppl feel sensitive teeth after doin this treatment.. unless u are so much worried abt esthetics.. u may lisconcern this .. sensitivyty.. for which dentists will fix up in due time for your sensitivity... moreover i would like to know do u have flourosis >> ? white patches like stains on teeth???

REMEMBER:- PROPER HISTORY FROM PATIENT MORE EFFECTIVE TREATMENT!!

Im 25 years old, my teeth are fairly straight just need to be done to perfection, dont have any other teeth problems.
is bleaching the only method for getting whiter teeth, obviously i dont want anything that will harm my teeth as there not bad at all, but just thinking of extras treatment for them. No don't have any stains of any kind of patches on my teeth.

Lol... I wud love to go 4 bleach just b4 my marriage... so that my wife wud say "Raju, tumhare daant to motiyon jaise chamak rahe hain"...

Well doc, Y the visits to the dentist seems like a vicious circle in majority of cases? I had RCT once... n it took too long for the dentist to correct it... Can't everything be done in just a couple of visits? My point is " Is there any research going on in this area, to speed the things up?"

Therez a method called "polishing" of teeth too... It gives that extra shine which we normally look for... Few of my friends have done it... & they didnt complain bout anything stingy happening to their teeth... I don't know whether polishing & bleach r synonymous.... maybe doc cud throw some light on it...

well well.. what u mean by vicious circle/? the treatment itself needs 4 sittings. (appointments).. unless your dentist do single sitting RCT,, and regarding about as u said tht your dentist took long time to correct it.. means wat u tried telling? your RCT was not done properly? or for doing RCT itself it took so much time..

aur ha... mere paas usually patients aate hai.. to get beached or ortho treatment.. when getting married.. its a normal human tendency.. jab pyas lage tab kuva khodne chalte hai!!:stuart:

well.. making teeth whiter.. i will tell u there are many ways.. bleaching and polishing is slightly different.. depending to methods and also with wht it its used..
bleaching is of 2 types.. vital teeth bleaching
    non vital teeth bleaching

basically bleaching is using hydrogen peroxide.. + sodium perborate which releases nascent oxygen.. microscopically removes stains and gives whitish tinge to your teeth.. but as hydrogen peroxide is acidic in nature. it leaves your teeth slightly sensitive.. so for few days u feel sensitive teeths on drinking hot tea or coffee or drinking areted drinks.. or ice cream.. which gradually reduces as per the use of desensitizers...

where as polishing... is something using abrasives... like pumice.,, done with hand held micro moter.. with a rubber cup.. which removes stains and makes smooth surface.. but as using abrasive material.. its obvious tht your teeth tend to become sensitive

overall i would like to make a note.. tht this sensitivity is transient.does not necessary that everyone will feel it.and use of desensitizers.. will reduce it back to normal..

Yeah...I meant that I had to make many trips to the clinic to get it write for that single treatment... It spanned 1 n half months I guess.. Had to cancel my Tkts for home... But it was worthwhile.. its been 5 yrs now... and the CAP on my teeth is still intact... The lady doc did the job very professionally and was quite nice to me...

So which method u recommend?? bleach or polish?

its not like RCT is just a small treatment.. basically is removing the necrotic pulp tissue.. allwing the clean non infective area to heal.. and inserting the " gutta percha points" into the pulp canals.. and giving the silver filling or composite or GIC and then placement of crown finally.. all the steps are related to one and the other.. if one step is not complete u cannot proceed further.. if the pain still persist.. if the healing or infection is not controlled .. its like u cannot fill the canals with "gutta percha" .. the pain will increase instead of subsiding.. so it is little time consuming but.. overall worth.as after all it saves your natural teeth.. !

regarding abt polishing and bleaching.. its nothing like recomended.. or not recomended.. i think u have to meet the dentist personally.. looking at the condition and the dentition.. further advise can be given.. only after proper check up!

I never drink tea... coffee also few times... but I was a regular smoker for 9 yrs.. quit it just a while back.... but I don't have stains on my teeth...not even at the inner side... my other smoker chums used to wonder whether I use Surf Excel to wash my teeth...lol.. even some of my gal-frnds use to wonder at the whiteness of my teeth...

I brush single time a day... but I can't understand y my teeth are resistant to stains compared to others... Is it hereditary or wot?

lol.. no man.. nothing like heriditary for stains.. basically 1st thing is the well aligned dentition will have less stains as like food particles and anyhin like ' pan, gutkha etc..' will not get remained in areas,,, basically tobacco and kattha stains the teeth more..
    moreover
secondly in a well aligned dentition brushig the teeth will prove more effective .!!
