    Default Smoking in public banned

I read it in the news papers that smoking will be banned in pubs and even hotel rooms according to the new law.

What about smoking areas at work places? Smoothvibes do you guys have an indoor smoking area? and is it going now due to the new law or what?

Don't worry about this news admin, Law and govt tried to ban smoking way back in 2003 when i joined collage and still i see students smoking in campus, and they can not ban smoking in hotels and pubs coz these places are ment for enjoyment and relax only, everyone got a different statement and definition of Relax for some people its swimming pool for some people its temple for some its cooking and for people like us its smoking on a silent place where no one can disturb.

Yes we got 3 smoking zone's inside wipro campus and lot many outside campus and actually if i tell you honestly i think in one night wipro consumes more than 8 or 9000 cigarette's

Do you really thing this is a good idea to Ban smoking in pubs and hotel rooms

Smoking is strickly banned in my place. Even in the public restaurants, smoking is not allowed. There are fines or penalties for those who are law breakers. :14:
For sure, smokers in this board feels bad upon hearing such news. I suggest to smoke at home. It's the only safe place for you.:14:

admin i checked this link Blanket ban on indoor smoking from Oct 2: Ramadoss-India-The Times of India and it says Banglore, don't worry we are in Delhi I am sure my work area is not covered under this law coz if they will try to do so then it can create big mess. We stay awake all nite long and sometimes need a time out from work to sip coffee or to smoke, now govt. need to understand this

I just had a word with my manager regarding same and you will be shocked to know that he confirmed that Wirpo Ltd. also need to follow these guidelines and he said that after 2 October 2008 Midnite will close all smoking areas inside campus but before that are trying to come up with some policy as about 80% of employees are regular somkers and can not take this hit.

Lets hope for best and someone please tell this funny govt. not to pass such kind of stupid law's :32:

Here would like to add something which is funny enough

A software engineer was smoking in office.
Girl says, Cant you see the warning? "smoking is injurious to health"

    the engineer says...........

    Any guesses !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

well it can be banned in restaurants and hotels, if it comes under the law and has to be applied to restaurants and hotels then it will be abided to, where as relaxation in hotels is concerned well its generally for sleeping, if someone wanted to smoke then it would be done outside i suppose.

if they are already saying no to smoke in your room then why they will allow you to smoke outside

I think this law is baseless and don't have any good reason to come in power
