| Junior Member | From talking to some other ISPs, I hear that they don't have very much connectivity to the outside world. I'm not sure whether this counts only for their peering or their international lines. Unlike DSL, they don't have to bother as much with contention ratios, and they can rationalize slow speeds with BS about the cable network being busy... Though, most of the time my mother-in-law is able to get about 70% of the advertised speed (she's on 128k) - since shes mostly checking Yahoo mail and whatnot, she doesn't complain too much. Recently though, there have been many signal fluctuations which are causing problems, and frankly, I'm sick of dealing with them and their lousy call centre staff. Changing ASAP. |
