Thread: Snail speed provided by hathway

4r the past one week my download speeds are less than that of dial up sometimes even 1 kbps inspite of subscribing to 1 mbps plans the guys at call centre said that the problem was with the servers and it would take some days to get solved :yawn: how many days god knows. is there ne one who is facing the same problem and knows the reason 4r it :hammer:

because i use hathway.
and my hathway speeds are pretty good..

i dont know.my speeds never went above 20kBps in torrents...

can you please share your plan details and what speed you are getting.

When it says 128 kbps...you should be getting at least 120 kbps on the speedtest.Download speed might be less...that depends on many factors.
And your upload is more than download...haven't seen that too often...

when u install wireshark u will get more speed for " hyderabad users only " i am using 128 plan and i am getting Dl 16.2 kbps perfectly and UP 12.1 kbps perfectly

adjust u r speed by using this " 192.168.100.1 " enter directely in adressbar and hit enter and configure u r speed

From talking to some other ISPs, I hear that they don't have very much connectivity to the outside world. I'm not sure whether this counts only for their peering or their international lines.

Unlike DSL, they don't have to bother as much with contention ratios, and they can rationalize slow speeds with BS about the cable network being busy...

Though, most of the time my mother-in-law is able to get about 70% of the advertised speed (she's on 128k) - since shes mostly checking Yahoo mail and whatnot, she doesn't complain too much.

Recently though, there have been many signal fluctuations which are causing problems, and frankly, I'm sick of dealing with them and their lousy call centre staff. Changing ASAP.
