Thumbs down How to deal with terrible service legally

I called up hathway to enquire about their service on a saturday. Theservice guy on the other side did not take any time to explain theproduct details but was very good to assure that he is going to bethere
at my home the very next day at 10:30. He was more than perfectby reaching a bit early, spoke very nicely, signed me up for a 450/-plan assuring the line would be done by evening or max the next day(Even i treated him very well with due respect)

He apologisesthat it can;t be done the very same day and from monday that guydoesn’t pick phones anymore or is out of reach. He is no where to befound and the hathway customer service is not doing anything abt iteither.

it is a small amount to go to consumer court or something but the amount of frustration is huge.

    Hathway personnel name: Sam
    Area: Indiranagar

    Some rules:

    1. Never give payment in Cash
    2. Always make cheques payable to the company and not the individual (no matter how trustworthy)
    3. Cross the cheque and make it 'A/c Payee only' and strike out the 'bearer' part.

I actually refused to sign with Tata Indicom because they insisted payment in advance. I had a good argument with the sales guy. I asked him whether he did not trust me to pay or whether my cheque would bounce. He said nothing of that kind and it was compan policy to collect payment in advance.

When I told him that I am going in for post-paid connection, he said that does not matter.
