Thread: Able to ping but site won't open

Have hathway broadband internet connection.

Am able to ping gmail.com orkut.com and yahoomail.com

but it won't open in IE. But some of these sites open via kproxy with limited content.

Can someone please help me in troubleshooting and getting the right settings?

There's probably some issues with your browser or add-ons. It could even be an antivirus/firewall problem.

First delete your browser's cookie and cache. If you're using IE7, close all windows, go to START>>Control Panel>>Internet Options>>Advanced and click on the RESET button down towards the bottom and Click RESET again if it prompts you. Once that's done, close all windows and try to browse again. Resetting IE optimizes the size limit of your cache and unloads browser add-ons which might cause such.

If the previous step does not resolve your problem post your system specifics like modem, OS, browser version, antivirus or firewall etc and someone in the forum just might be able to help.
