    These so called Linksys, Netgear, D-Link routersa re basically switches with a little gateway/router/dhcp functionality built in for convenience. You just don't have to use the WAN port.

    my hathway modem
    give modem details. Cable modem or ADSL modem .
    Do you use a dialer to connect ?
    or
    it is "always On"?

    Post ipconfig /all data.
    Start RUN type cmd type ipconfig /all

    As far as I know and as I have it, the cable modem that comes with a Hathway connection is a Scientific Atlanta (now Cisco) WebSTAR DPC2100 - always on connection - either DHCP or STATIC ip address

    @rishiehari

    Are you still looking for a solution ?
    send PM to respond here.

    Connected thread with some sugestion/s by @hexwiz

    Para two ;
    Combining a CABLE modem and an Adsl WIFI router is,
    sometimes difficult and we have to spoof the MAC addresses.

    will revert back after some time .
    sorry for the delay in responding.
    After Google search :WEBSTAR DPC2100
    will down load user manual etc and will reply.
