Thread: Hathway has closed its operations in CHENNAI

Hathway says it has wound up its activities in Chennai. When contacted they want the Modem to be returned to get back the deposit. Why have they done this. Of course they have been facing lot of vandalism in the recent past. Seems political influence played a definite role in their decision.
What is happening here ? A country where everyone has 'free for all' games !
Can anyone throw more light on this ?

due to the poor level of service provided by them, they are fast losing customers and it seems no longer economically viable for them to continue operation in commercial basis.

Actually the problem with them is that they have roped in local cable operaters to provide services which creates lots of problems resulting in poor services, other problem they faced is from the powerfull political cable networks in chennai, which created lots of hrudels by slashing their cable networks and many.

I too had hathway BB connection discontinued it long back i just mailed the CC regarding disconnection thats it and got a call from concerned off to ask whats the reason then no response, they just kept on sending me bills i never minded now they have stoped that, but no one contacted for the cable modem its still with me and there was no deposit for the same too.

Other interesting thing is that recently i got a sms from Airtel BB, which was specially for Hathway customers, means sure they are about to wind up their business.

Yes, Because of Political issues in Chennai Hathway lost majority of customers especially in velacherry & T.Nagar area.

But Airtel gives discount coupon for Hathway customers. Take that to the Airtel dealer and change to Airtel if the deal is good.
