Your Scientific Atlanta cable modem should connect to the WAN/DSL port of the DI-524 through an ethernet cable. And an a ethernet port on the DI-524 would connect to the pc with a second ethernet cable.

The ip of a dlink gateway defaults to 192.168.0.1

Now open internet explorer and type http://192.168.0.1/ in your browser and hit ENTER. It should prompt you to enter a username and password. Type in admin in the username box and leave the password box blank and hit ENTER again

Once the gui loads up, to the left column of the page - click on WAN. Select Static IP Address under WAN settings and enter your ip address, subnet mask, gateway and dns information and after all that's done click on Apply at the bottom. Attached is a screenshot for your reference.

    Good luck!

I didnt work. Do you need to clone the MAC address of the PC ?

In the wizard, if I select Static IP, the MAC clone is not available for selection. It is available only during Dynamic IP.
