Thread: Hathway Says My Pc has a virus...Need ur suggestions.

I have been using hathway over a year and 2 days ago i.e 11 june sunday,i changed my plan to new way happy which is 24 hrs unlimited.But around 4 pm it stopped working suddenly i coudnt open any sites.It used to connect and also sends data but it did to receive.Next day i contacted hathway customer care they said that here it shows u are connected and the banding is also there but still i wasnt able to open any page on browser,they said they will send an engineer.He came and checked my pc he said that u pc has a virus and thats u ip is blocked due it went in other networks and said it needs to be formatted.
I just bought my pc 2 months ago after waitng for the new intel core processors.I am using Kaspersky Internet Security 2010 and i scan my pc every week.i told him all this but he said u have to format or if u ip gets bloacked second time it will be blocked permanently.
What should i do this case?I have adequate knowledge about comps protecting from malewares etc.My pc doesnt hang at all not a single error msg have come out which can indicate my pc is infected.I also keep my pc up to date with windows update.Need ur views.

When my new Hathway connection started giving problems, that is what they tried to pull on me. Of course it was utter rubbish, as my comps have always been squeaky clean. But its better to be sure, as it might not be the case with you. Try scanning with other AVs. If possible also try connecting your comp thru another internet connection. You could also consider connecting your mobile as a modem or borrow a USB modem from someone.

If you can't get rid of the fictitious (probably) virus, just get rid of Hathway.

I tried using the internet with airtel mobile office connecting with nokia ovi suite one touch acess and its working and the page opens and also scanned my pc with maleware bytes anti-malware 1.46 after updating it and no objects were infected.Friend even hathway said same thing to u?Did they block your second time?Problem with me is that i have renewed my ac for 3 months and they are not going to refund my money

IN SAFE MODE with Internet connection.
TRY a System restore to earlier date .

May take about an hour for full scan.

My episode happened long ago. I made them disconnect it after 20 days. Why are you so worried about them blocking you?? You block them first! Lol. If they block/disconnect you, you are entitled to a refund. You may have to fight for it... that is another matter. With 4th rate companies like Hathway, you should never pay any advance. If you do, you may fall in your own trap... which is what has happened with you.

i suggest you to use SuperAntiSpyWare And Scan Full pc ! I got Good Result,

And kaspersky is not good Antivirus !! (my self its sucks )

Reinstall Networking Controller Driver !
