Thread: hathway sucks at night and morning

I have currently hathway 196 kbps but major problem is that at night i don't get access.After 9:30 i can hardly access net and still cant access net till about 9:30 in morning.If you do the network daignostic utility you can see errors like
Host not reacheable
DNS status not working
Gateway not reachable
etc.

I dont know why hathway avoids me providing access through their server at nights to internet.why they give me out head sucking network problems

I very much agree with u, what u can do is unplug/switch off ur modem and switch on again and then try, i guess ur net shud work. You shud complain abt this if its very repetative...

you are right. I have 512 kbps connection, and at night it gets slow down. But i have observed one thing, that only its surfing speed gets down, but the downloading speed is good, i.e. i get download speed around 55KBps using torrent. IS it same, that happening with you?

Actually the Download speeds should be calculated bt dividing the BB speed by 8.

so if its 512 then the download speed is 64 kbps so what you are getting is close to it.

yaa thats correct if you are getting 55kbps donload rate then its fine
as 512/8= 64 and this may vary from 52kbps to 64kbps

How if yr line is 256kbps & u struggle to even get 10kBps download,, not at night, at anytime of the day! Infact nights are worse.. downloads gets killed due to cut-outs.

Practically 256kbps = 32kBps.
Have been getting an average speed of 30kBps for years, but now, such is the state, even 8-10kBps is difficult to touch.

This shows simply how the servers are being HAMMERED hard, n the possible reasons are too much traffic, non-expansion acc to needs & increase in capacity, very less preffered dns s & mainly negligence of maintenance.

(P.S. kbps = kilo bits per second ,,, kBps = kilo bytes per second
1kBps = 8kbps.. as also stated by m8s smoothvibes & BradEuk)

Hathway broadband service is the worst broadband one can ever imagine. I took a 2 month 2 GB free connection, it was prepaid. I dont get any network even 10% of the day. Since last 15 days I've been calling the helpdesk people at least thrice a day, everyday they utter the same thing - it will be fixed within next 12 hours. These 12 hours are never coming. I'VE PAID MONEY AND I'M NOT GETTING ANY NETWORK. Forget about the speed.

Even the manager was so scoundrel that when I sent an email to him describing the situation, he promised that he'll fix this within one day. He never did that. If I would have enough time, I would sue them under consumer protection act. I've removed my network and going for Airtel from the next month.

Friends, just avoid this HATHWAY people.

i had taken the hath way night unlimited plan of 512 kbps .......what they used to do is slow the speed so i 2was not able to download

Friends....please dont go for HATHWAy....its worst service i have ever seen.... i have used BSNL dialup 56kbps and even that gives me 7-8kbps downloading speed..Now i have Hathway 256kbps broadband..and downloading speed.... during day its 6-7kbps..and during night..guess..3-4kbps !!
Ideally i should get 30-35kbps....they even ensured me of that..but all is rubbish..even many times the net gets disconnected..and you have to call their C/c centre..once i holded on for around 8mins..finally no result..was just getting a recorded message...."All C/c execs are busy..will get back to you soon!!"
If u wish peace of mind go for others..anyone else will do but not Hathway !!
