Hello. First post. Thoroughly fed up with sify, and it's vendor pentahome around here, i'm looking for a more reliable isp. Preferably, one that offers a 512 kbps unlimited d/l package. So far, i've talked to the hathway vendor. Is it any good? 256 is the best they're offering, but that's ok with me, so long as it's better than the garbage i've had to take from sify. Suggestions?

Like u i'm jus fed up with the Mother F@#king service provided by Sify. Man..u knw wat, I used 2 hv Airtel 4 Office and Bsnl 4 home use. Well, at Shipra I hv 2 use sify's Bullshit broadband service with a f#$ked up customer service. I can never download nething, cannot play Multiplayer games due to line breakage and timeouts. F$%ked up is all I can say abt the service.

N whenever I go to complaint abt d service, they jus say "Kal ho jayega". WTF???
I'm still using Sify cuz I've no other choice.However I jus wanted to try Hathway. Well jus b'cuz I got a pathetic service from Sify, I'm jus afraid to switch over 2 someother service Provider.

Well !! there's only 1 solution to it.
Bug that pentahome a$$hole as much as you can.
I keep monitoring all active ip addresses. I keep switching over to the alternative gateways I have. That helps a lot !!!.
Pentahome uses 2 gateway
10.129.232.1
10.129.176.1
If 232 is down I switch over to 176 and vice versa. This is what I do.
I have three static Ip address registered for my mac Id.(Jus in case).
Where in Shipra do you live by d way???

It has come to my knowledge that hathway, unlike sify, blocks all high-numbered ports by default, which means extremely slow d/ls (3-4 kb/s) from p2p sites. Worse still, they are charging for a static ip. Looks like it's back to sify for me. You see, i don't mind having my weekly quarrel sessions with the pentahome jackass so long as i continue to get the 20+ kb/s d/l speeds.

Put simply, if you're a regular on p2p sites, and have strong objections in paying for a static ip, you may want to decide against opting for hathway. Well, that's what i'm going to do, anyway.

What am planning to do now is go for the Tata indicom's USB Wireless Adapter till I find for myself a permanent address. I would have been glad to go for Airtel Broadband because of the quality of the service they offer. Still Tata's upto 153.3 K Speed Sucks !!! I need speed which is somewhere around 256k - 512k with no timeouts. I play online games for which I need good connection.
