Default [SOLVED] Can connect ot internet but not to 192.168.1.1

    Hi,

    I have hathway broadband (Mumbai).

I can connect to internet to my heat's content (after entering login details at hathway login portal - new annoying stuff from them) but I cannot access to router 192.168.1.1

I have Iball Baton wireless router. Anti Virus is Kaspersky Internet Security 2011. Windoz XP

I also have Ubuntu 10.04 LTS and from there i can access 192.168.1.1.

So I guess it is XP problem.
I tried to ping 192.168.1.1 -t and got request timed out.

    I typed win+r --> cmd --->ipconfig/all

    I got following data.
    IP Address: 192.168.1.1
    default gateway: 192.168.1.100

In description I got Linksys wireless-G PCI adaptor !!!

    Details in the screenshot

    Please help.
    Thanks

    [SOLVED]

    ok. the problem is solved.

When I first clicked linksys tray icon or through program files, nothing happened, but after I closed all the windows, as I wanted to Shut down, I saw a message saying that 'currently you are using windows wirelss network, Switch to linksys wireless network' - i do not remember exact words.

I clicked yes, then refreshed wireless list and connected to it. wooaa I could log in to 192.168.1.1

I will mark it as solved.

Get ipconfig /all without connecting your Iball baton router.
Did you get a cable modem from Hathways / or just an Rj45
    which goes direct to computer/

    Iball Baton wireless router.
Give model number . ( If adsl modem+wifi router)
A standalone wifi router required .
    feedback with details.

    I got Linksys wireless-G PCI adaptor !
This is the WLAN card in your desktop/laptop

Check application "connectify" for Windows XP. if available.

    Oh sorry for half details.

I have linksys wireless LAN card.
Iball Baton wireless rounter 54M extended Range
Model No: 1B WRX054 G. It does not have adsl

I have hathway router ot which hathway cable is connected. From this LAN cable (RJ 45) is connected to Iball baton and from there I have a wireless Linksys LAN card to my desktop PC running XP SP2. I have installed the software for wireless LAN.

    I will look for connectify.
I think since I can access to router through Ubuntu 10.04 LTS, it is a windows problem.
    Thanks.

Edit: I just figured out that I cannot Linksys wireless adaptor either from sys tray or from start --> programs
I will try to reinstall it and see what happens.

    The problem is solved.

After I clicked the Link sys icon, Nothing happened, but at the time of shutdown, after I closed all windows, I got a message, that you are currently using windows wireless network, switch it to Linksys network. I switched to it, refreshed wireless list, and then connected using password. wooaa, I could now login in. I will mark this thread as solved.

    Thanks for the help.
