Hathaway is a Cable Broadband service provider. So ADSL modem won't work.
Do u already have a Cable modem installed at your premises ?
In that case you can use D-link 2750U as a router (LAN +Wi-FI).

I have already said ADSL modems won't work with cable broadband.
Is there any LAN port on the back of the modem provided by Hathaway ?

You cannot use an adsl modem with router on a Hathway connection because Hathway does not use adsl technology. There is no point looking for ways to use an incompatible peice of equipment. Buy a new wifi router which would cost you less then Rs1000.

If there is a LAN port in the modem provided by Hathaway (which is most lkely) then there is no need to buy a new wifi router.
chauhansuraj84 already has a DLink 2750U modem which in this can be used as a WiFi router.

    Hi

Few days back I bought the same ADSL DSL-2750U and got the same reply . After some trial and error I am able to connect to Wifi network and I can access the Internet but the only issue is you can access internet only on one PC/ Tablet at a time. If you try to log on internet on 2nd PC simultaneously it ask you for enter the credential into the hathway login page and then gives you a error . User already logged in. you need to log out of Hathway from 1st pc so that you can access internet on 2nd PC. still not able to find the solution for Multiple hathway login at the same time.

If anyone from the forum can help me on that . It will be highly appreciated. .

If you are happy with one internet login at a time and still need help on setting this , please let me know. I can surely help you with it.

Just to let you know I am layman and do not know anything about networking. I learnt the hard way by google search and Youtube . so if still interested let me know. I can at least get you connected to the wifi network and one Pc at a time.

Connecting the ADSL DSL-2750U to the Hathway cable modem .. Steps

    1. access your router screen in browser 192.168.1.1
    2. Click Lan link and disable DHCP
    3. Click DSL and uncheck ADSL and ADSL2+
    4. connect the lan cable from your hathway modem to your router
    5. Restart your desktop/laptop

I am able to access the Hathway login screen on one m/c using wireless login and browse. However simultaneously on another m/c hathway login gives error ("User already logged in. Maximum concurrent session Limit breached")

ANy one knows how to solve this problem ?
