Default Free hours has been changed

Till one week back hathway free hours downloading time was between 11 Pm and 9 AM. But all of a sudden they have changed it to 12 and 7 AM. This is shocking news for them. Because their free hours have been cut and most of them were greatly dependent on that for downloading movies and other stuff. Now most of them starting hating hathway.

This is totally unwarranted. Did they inform you about this change before itself. If not try approaching some umbudsman service of ISPs in India, if any. But at least your timing seems far reasonable comparing with BSNL's where the free timing is set as 2 a.m. to 8 a.m. which is the most absurd time to browse.

This post really seems funny to me !!!

As some one said, first ISP ever to decrease the free download time..!!

Another funny thing and worrying factor is, when there is no basic connectivity for browsing (the case with me) I cannot think of downloading stuff with Hathway...

I have terminated the connection(did not yet get my renewal refund though) and I think I am giving them back almost 7GB*6 months = 42 GB back to them...I haven't utilized any of the free downloads in this time frame...

I just see nothing more than a selfish money minded business behind this rather than a consumer/customer oriented win-win business model !!

May be my thoughts are biased because, I never got a good customer service nor a good basic service from hathway...But I don't see nothing wrong in my thoughts even though its biased..!!

And one more clever thing I noticed in Hathway's website, they have just their contact address and common phone numbers...They never have email IDs or phone number of higher authorities, in their web site...There is no possible way of escalating the issue also...You will have to stick on talking with the level 1 support people, they won't pass on the call to their manager unless you insist them too much...even the second level managers are not that good..!!

I still remember, one point with Sify my first broadband ISP, I could not connect with Linux OS to internet via Sify, the customer care could not help me because, there were no good linux experts...I looked up their website and wrote an email to their support manager, next day I got service people to my house and my issue was resolved. I would say atleast there is some *scope* of promising chance managers are good in these kind of organizations...even thats ruled out in Hathway...

So, as far as I would say, if you are in Hathway its almost like you are in a death trap...as long as you are lucky and things are fine, you will have the basic needs...otherwise...nothing
