Default file sharing on Hathway broadband network

I and my friend have Hathway broadband connection,
    i have unlimited night download
and my friend have download limit og 1 gb.

    Now wht i want:
i want to share files and movies on my HDD with my frind.
Is it possible on network.....since we r in hathway network.

Or if not..then how can i setup an FTP server on my HDD to share with my friend....

and most important ..if my friend is copying the files from my hdd ...will it be count in the download limit for his connection

As per my knowledge the data transfer between the modem and the server is considered as the download or upload, so any data u send over a n/w will be considered and billed.

when i first bought hathway, i also searched for the same lot....
    but no luck.................
so i figured out its not possible when ur connected thru cable modem.....

one thing i suppose can be tried is use of dc++ and establishing a hub,
try it out, but the data will still be counted.....

friends try using skype.com/intl/en/ skype messenger for sharing files in the same network.
Transfer rate is good ( i got upto 800 kbps).
but i dont know if it will be charged under usage limit.
