Thread: Hathway is good, But..it is Bhawani-Hathway

Using Hathway-Bhawani since quite a few months I had to pay Rs.3500 registration and installation then I had to shell out another Rs.7500 for the cable modem. I had a fight with them on this issue as well because Hathway sold the same modem to my friend in Bandra for Rs.6500 the same day!!!

I was paying Rs.650 for 300MB cap on download then moved to Rs.1600 for 1GB cap but I had to pay Rs.500 for changing the plan. Overall there was really only maybe 30 minutes of downtime over the last 10 months which is really good.

Here comes the bumer! Over the past few months I have noticed that Hathway has been billing me for extra downloads when in fact my pc was not on at all switched on that day..so I set out to check it out installed dumeter and watched it for a couple of months noticed that even when DUmeter had recorded 980MB download the invoice I received from Hathway was for the standard 1GB that was allowed but also Rs.400 for 200MB extra download as per their tariff which is Rs.2 per MB. I have sent them a strong worded letter.

Overall Hathway tech support and corporate office has been very reasonable and customer oriented but the Bhawani tie-up has brought in the functioning like that of the cable operators..monopolistic and goonda-raj...that is take it if you want or buzz off

Ohh completely forgot Hathway blocks port 25 but all other ports are ok..so if you are like me trying to configure web & mail servers then it wont work. Which incidently is what I do professionally so as of now Hathway is for temp work till I get a better ISP

I am also a hathway bhawani user for couple of years and lately found that they are over billing like anything.... on the contrary their servies during night time are rarely working and the call centre no one ever picks up the phone...

They respond next day by when i am in office..... and by the time i reach home their services and call centre are down....

Inspite of the same i recv. a over billing of almost Rs. 1000.... as a resultihave decided to switch over to a more reliable and honest broad band...
