I had Hathway Shared device for almost a year. 2 MBPS shared device (Router in Apt complex basement), DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) Lan (Local Area Network) wired into the flats.

A value for money deal. Unlimited time, unlimited download for Rs 1000 per month.

Get average download speeds of min of 50 kbps to peaks of 100+ kbps.

But however periodic DNS (Domain Name System) issue are there. Every 3 to 4 hours of connection DNS outage for 1-10 mins. That is my browser would say cannot find hostname.. Every week there is so called someone cut our fibre optic cable or RF equipment problem.

Then started the problems. I wanted to tele-commute, the RAS (Remote Access Server) at where I work being enabled for Mircrosoft L2TP. To my surprise their equipment was blocking it. My dialup provided BSNL - NetOne bangalore did no such thing.

Tried working with their Customer support folks for about 2 weeks and finally I gave up trying resigned to the fact that nothing could be done.

Thats when I decided to give up on them.

Will recommend Hathway for the average Joe bloe user. If you want anything more look elsewhere.

The call center requires atleast about 5-7 tries before getting thru. Grrr.
