Default You get what you pay for- Fair Enough

After using R-connect (Reliance Mobile’s Internet Service) for about 6 months, which is time based, I wanted to have an always-on Internet connection. That was when I decided to switch to Hathway. I did not research much before signing up for Hathway as I was lured towards its free installation scheme, wherein you pay Rs.3,300 (Approx.) and get 6 months of unlimited access @64 kbps (Installation Charges included). Also Hathway was available in my area, Mira Road.

Signing up for Hathway was really easy. First I took their number from a friend, and gave them a call at around 11 in the morning. Now here was what I liked. They took my number promptly and said that they’ll be calling me back. They didn’t keep me on hold even for a second! In the evening at around 5 I got their call and they took my address. Now guess what? Next day morning, at around 11, their sales representative was at my place. I made the payment and he promised me the connection within 8 days.

Well, 8 days seemed a long time but all I could do was wait. However I got the connection on the 5th day itself. Now I was going to experience the real thing which I was anxious to know about i.e. the quality and speed of the connection.

I was delighted with it! I got a stable speed of 50-55 kbps without any disconnections! This was comparatively much better to my R-connect service which though had a speed 144 kbps; I mostly got high fluctuations in the speed with an average of 40 kbps.

Also, since Hathway connects to your computer through LAN, you can share files with other Hathway users, provide they enable sharing.

A final word about Hathway: They do what they say. No fake promise or catch.

Hi!
I too am a user from Mira Road. I have got a connection recently. Bro, I do not agree with you on the speed matter. I have seen the speed of hathway and other cable connection in Mulund area. They seemed to be working on hard disk. But the speed I get is too pathetic. Do you know about tuning the performance?

One more thing, please provide me info about the local hub. How can I connect them and share files?

Thanks.

I think you are criticisng Hathway. In Mumbai too, especially in Mira Road at least what my exp is, it is horrible. But other places in mumbai like Mulund, iHathway is superb.

I wanted to know how to connect LAN in my area and share my files and get others'.

I totally disagree with U. Hathway is crap. They cut down and restrict Ur speed at nights when its free unlimited. The cust serv is pathetic.... yes I do agree they are very prompt when it comes to collection of payments.

And by the way... Is there a Mira Road in Chandigarh too as ur location suggests ? or are u one of the marketting person for Hathway ? hehehe

Thumbs down Double charged for the month of April,2008 - Mira Road

I agree with all Mira-Road Hathway users as it's horrible service of hathway also the initial speed was good but later they reduced and not able to justify.

I got the Hathway cable Internet connection in the month of Oct,2007 by paying Rs. 1,800/- on 27-10-2007 by cheque no. 432781. This connection was for six months. As per the plan ( Six months pre-paid ) it was about to expire near end of April,2008.

In the month of march i was asked by the Hathway distributor to get it changed to a Lan Modem internet by paying 300 Rs. more. The question was what will happen to the money i have already paid upto the month of April,08 in case if the new connection starts in March,08. They very nicely answered that it will get carried forwarded in the next plan automatically. However Hathway has started billing me from the month of March,08.

The Hathway distributor at Mira Road has cheated me. Please help me to find the way out.

Regards,
Ritesh.
