    Default Worst Experience

    I took a hathway broadband connection in prepaid form. But the connection had trouble from day1. When they came to install, it was not working and the person told it is a problem with your computer and we are not in a business to repair computers, infact he didn’t know what the problem was.
    Coming to nest the connection will get out of order in a day or 2 and need to call their call centre (paid phone line) and they will send some person in 1-2 days and then some time they will rectify or they will leave it for others, In world requiring instant connectivity this is the service level.
    Next their modem got out of order they took another 3 days to replace it.
    Next the connection was not working so i called the call centre and every day they will tell , it will be rectified by 11 am tomorrow and will never be done. Even their representatives started lying that the connection is up, if i am calling from office. I know most of their representatives Arvind, subbu and few girls. Most of them lying and even the number that they gave of their Manager was not connecting.
    As a customer i am no where since this is a prepaid connection and i have paid all the money and they are not doing anything.
    The connection is not yet up till writing this review almost 7 days.
    Pathetic, never go with Hathway.
    My customer Id number is 97495, if any one wants to verify with them.

    Oh my God, why I didn't read all these reviews before going for a Prepaid 512 kbps connection where I am getting a speed of only 100 kbps. I complained several times, sent severals mails but not yet got any reply from them. All my money seems disappeared. These people don't bother about the customer's complaints at all.

    This is my 1st post here. In fact, the only reason I signed up here was because I came across your post.
    I'm a Hathway customer and as you must've realised their service sucks.
    I've had quite a few problems with them- my latest being not having a connection at all....everyday i used to call them up- and i would be assured that my problem will be fixed within 24 hours. Guess what -it wasnt fixed.

    I was without a connection for 7 days. I mailed them asking them to disconnect my service. I received a call from their disconnection department the very next day. And then my connection was restored in 4 hours.Try this - hopefully it should also work for you.

    And oh yes! irrespective of whether your problem is fixed or not-Change your ISP as soon as the month is over.

    Hathway is the worst ISP u'll ever find .
    the salesman bloody idiot sold a crap Blast 512 Kbps ( and i was said that they dont count browsing sites and voice chat as dowloads ).

    Internet was installed on 2-2-2007 ( 7:30 Pm ) used for an hr and connection was lost and next day mornign used for another hr and the connection was lost again . The connection was restored next day( sunday ) at 3:00 Pm and guess all these hrs i was getting speeds of 7-8 which i was gettin gon my 64 connection previously .

    I mailed them and waiting for reply . I thretened the sales man that iff proper speeds are not given ima gng to "Consumer Forums". These Bloody Idiots need to learn a lesson.

    Damn Bloody Business Practices.

    I can empathize with u.

    About the 512 blast: when I 1st took a Hathway connection I went for the 512kbps package-1gb limit. At that time there was no such thing as unltd downloads at night.
    On it I was getting a max 6Kbps. Thats not a typo. I said SIX kbps. When I spoke to those guys they lied to me and assured me thats thats the normal speed. At that time I did not know how to calculate downloads, difference between KB v/s kb etc.

    I switched to their 64kbps plan-unltd downloads and now get a max of 4 kbps.

    MTNL is building some new branch and having new routers in my area. Cant wait for them to finish construction. Till then I'm stuck with Hathway

    BLACKCOBRA: Heres some free advice. Mailing them is not going to work. The only response u get is the automated response saying that they've received ur mail. They will not respond to ur mails. I'm telling u that from personal experience.
    Call them directly. Thats the only way to deal with them.

    About ur threat of consumer forums- thats a laugh. Do u really think they care? Do u think that they dont visit online boards and read all the stuff we consumers say about them?

    1)Now today i called up the Bloody Call center and asked abt the speed they said that my plan is not 512 Blast but its 256 Kbps
    ( first lie)

    2) i was told that i'd e getting speeds of around 40-50 min
    Iam gettings the speeds when "0" is deleted from 40-50.
    2nd lie
    3) i was told that unlimited Downloads from 10 Pm to 9 Am
    But its 11 Pm to 9 Am

    3rd lie

    4) i was told that during the day time Browsing is not considered as Download ( only Attachements in Email etc etc or download which u make )

    4th lie

    5) I said all my sisters stay in US and we use Pc to Phone service ( which i pay around 15-20 $ a month ) and we talk 3-4 hrs daily.
    i was told that thats also not counted as download

    i asked 4-5 times about the Download stuff i said are u sure of what ever u'r saying . i explained them the meaning of Download

    they said its free we have installed in hundreds of houses.

    5th lie


    they have invited me to their office tomorrow and said w'll sort it out.

    About ur threat of consumer forums- thats a laugh. Do u really think they care?
    i dont care weather they care on or not.

    i have fought with sify and won and i'll fight with these Bas****ds and i'll win

    All ima asking is its almost 5 days since internet has been installed ( out of which there was no connection for 2 days) return my money .

    Iam really gonna strip those marketing Bas******ds.

    You know....no offense...but I was kindda laughing when I read this. It had a sense of deja vu. Been there-experienced that.

    I am all to aware of all the lies and stuff.

    as far as what u said about returning your money- I too asked them to at least give me a discount for the month of Jan since i was without an internet connection for a week. I was told that they consider such cases only when the customer is without connection for above 10 days.

    At least they have invited u over for a discussion. good luck with that.

    Sify: do u mind telling me what happened and how u tackled it?
    I too might most probably end up with something similar with Hahway.
