Default Good alternatives for junk food

Potato chips seem to always be on the top list for junk foods. What do you think would make good alternatives to satisfy those cravings for salty/crunchy foods?
Smoked almonds seem to work for me. Any other ideas?

I prefer Pringles which do not involve frying.

ok.. i will suggest for best alternatives for junk foods and some facts....

1st of all...........junk foods are really bad,,, every one knows.. but how??? anyone tell me if they know...
junky foods ... all are tempted...but i sware... i have seen ppl.. struggling to loose weight..they just cant.. if u r gained weight just by eating junk foods.. your fat doesnt get removed so easily..

secondly.. cholestrol level.. if u have noted the levels.. LDL n HDL.... it has very high LDL ...

thirdly.. it is said.. ppl get addicts of junk food...

so.. firstly.. resticting diet for best is cereals n vegetables..best among them is sprouted moongs,,,

i know this sounds very boring n all... but this is the best for health conscious ppl..
take more of salads.. use less of potatoes in diet.. more of cereals n carbohydrates...
restrict more refined flour... MAIDA...more details.. i think i would like to answer the queris.. for ppls question.. rather talking vague.. as for me its very vast topic..

One more fact .... having a heavy carb diet makes you more lethargic ....

baby carrots is a good snack. Also something like
soybeans (Japanese - edamame) is also my favorite.

Very funny, looks like we can't live without junk food. As always most foods we crave are those that are bad for us..

I also agree with itsmemad about the tv watching thing. Munching on a snack while watching tv is terrible. You hardly realize how much you are eating only to find out at the end you have already consumed a whole bag of chips, very very, bad!

ya more carbohydrate rich diet makes u feel lathargic....

protein rich diet is best.. when combined with fibrous diet... spinach, cabbage, carrots, pulses n cereals(keeping in water over night or sprouted), muli, tomatoes, garlics n onions...

eat it making salad or half cooked or make soup out of it.. but incorporating such diet in your daily life,, it not only burn fat n makes u slim n trim.. but also provides best nutrients.. makes digestive system more effecient n ultimately makes u feel more healthier and fresh.....

well.. if ppl want a healthy life.. a perfect fit body.. they sould have to maintain things.. whether in our diet or in physical activities like sports n excersise... there is nothing tht u cant control in life.. and remember one thing.. everything is posible in life... its just like u have to prepare your mind.. (the most versatile organ...ever made by god),,,

That is so so true, watching tv wants to make you eat something while watching it, another thing i found is that if you keep yourself busy you wont eat as much junk food. When people are bored they think lets eat something which generally leads to things like chips and other junk foods!

I think you should have a bit of everything but in moderation, you shouldn't have to give up on anything and just give yourself something like 20mins - 1 hour a day for exercise to maintain your health and weight!

Yeh, thats right... People start eating just to kill boredom...
And little bit of everything does no harm too... Exercise is something which should be part of our lives... Especially cuz of the modern day lifestyle...

I guess I've to unsubscribe from this thread... cuz everytime I visit here I want to eat something... Right now I'm having cookies...
