    Default Exercise Equipment

Which is the best exercise equipment for weight loss and toning.

My friend is planning to buy some equipment to keep in her home, her main purpose is weight loss and then toning up. I actually suggested an exercise bike to her, or the one with cross trainer arms!
And also an ab cruncher or that ab slider!

Although i suggested them I don't know which ones are most effective!

An elliptical machine is supposed to be the best according
to some of my friends who visit gyms.

p.s It's like a combined treadmill, stairmaster and bike ;-)

I've seen those, but i found that when using the bike the handles were too far in front, and made the bike exercise really uncomfortable!

Shes decided to get a treadmill instead, as both her and her husband can use it for mild walking to jogging or running! I suppose nothing beats walking or running!

    1. You can do some adjustments to the distance, but if you are too
short or too tall it might not be enough

    2. running/jogging takes a toll on impact to the knees and ankles though.
Make sure they get proper running shoes based on their running style.
    overpronate/underpronate etc.

yeh you can do that! But sometimes i feel that when you have more than one person living in the house and you can afford it then why not get both separate machines!

Or would you guys think that going to the gym is better!

With the gym there is only one problem you have to take time out to drive and go there, where as when you have the equipment at home its easy, but doing both is a plus point! I think it also depends on ones lifestyle on the timings of their work, their schedule and all, and the most important thing, the for gym users the gym should be good, and suitable for females too!

I personally like going to the gym, as i can not get anything done at home. I was also considering buying an exercise machine and have used my friends tread mill, but running or jogging isnt my thing, so i think i would probably go for a bike. But i know i wont be able to do it, so thought i might get the ab cruncher and leave the bike as it would just sit there, and whenever feel like just go to the gym and when i dont just go out for a walk!

Unless you are powerwalking at 6 miles per hour, walking is not
very aerobic, It is still better than nothing, but is not really exercise.

The only thing i know is walking gives you a freshness to your body as well as your brain. There are other exercise one need to do to relieve the body.
