One doubt. I have heard too much brushing causes the enamel to *fade* away. Is that true?

Ok another query. I have met some guys/gals who do not use toothpaste while brushing. They just use a plain clean brush. When confronted they were of the opinion, did our great great forefathers use toothpaste or any other stuffs?
So is that attitude true?
I don't know... But I guess our great-grandfathers were more immune to teeth problems... cuz they never ate chocolates, fast/junk foods, softdrinks etc... atleast they used twigs from some specific trees like neem...
Ahh...maybe one of these days i should point them to this thread. U guys must see the way by which they defend this thinking of theirs..![]()
That attitude is comical to say the least. Toothpaste was not invented then. Toothpaste contains the right chemicals in the right proportion that help clean the teeth better, kill bacteria, attack the germs that cause bad breath, etc.
For that matter, our forefathers did not use the brush either. So why use the brush then?

Yes this is true. My grandmother used to brush her teath for many
many years and finally the enamel and the entire teeth faded
away and she had no teeth at all in the end.

OK, I'll take your word for it. Haven't personally read the KS.
Didn't think I'd learn anything new from it ;-)
