Don't worry, the chemical used in vicks is not the 'drugs' variety ;-)

"The levorotary (R-isomer) levomethamphetamine is an over-the-counter drug and used in Vicks Inhalers for nasal decongestion and does not possess the CNS activity of dextro or racemic methamphetamine. "

In 2005 the FDA removed phenylpropanolamine from over-the-counter sale.[7] An item on the agenda of the 2000 Commission on Narcotic Drugs session called for including norephedrine in Table I of United Nations Convention Against Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances[8]

Because of its potential use in amphetamine manufacture, it is controlled by the Combat Methamphetamine Epidemic Act of 2005. It is still available for use in dogs.

Available in India in the form of a combination tablet with Cetirizine as Alerid-D manufactured by Cipla.

these results are all based on scientific studies...i'm not spreading rumours here!

at least the main chemical i have mentioned has been banned by the FDA years back...

and possibly all others that other members have added.

I went and read that article. Are they serious or is it a
light hearted article? It is far from a rigorous scientific study.
