| Hello guys... Let me tell you that i was very active in sports in my school and college days(Played 7 nationals in swimming and 2 nationals in lawn tennis) and i was very fit and in good shape..But now because of work and weird working hours i gained 4-5 kg of extra weight according to BMI index (Thanks to Sandwiches, Coffee, Pizzas, Burgers).. But now I've decided to work out in serious manner, I joined the gym last week and working out regularly.. I don't have any questions regarding how to work out and what should be ratio of weight training and Cardio or specific exercise for specific parts of body.. I guess i know these stuffs.. What i don't know is what to eat and what not.. Again some of you suggest that don't take rice, potatoes, oily food, burgers etc.... I'm foodie and i cannot switch to salads kind of things for whole day (Not this quick).. So i'm expecting some experienced members to contribute here and help me and others by giving their valuable suggestion regarding this Thanks |

| I'm consuming rice in lunch..Trying to avoid rice in dinner.. There is no issue in dinner as i prepare at home only but as far as lunch is considered i've to go out for that.. And that's where i don't have options.. In breakfast i go for milk, banana and corn flakes.. |

| I never have any proper time to eat no specific time present specially for lunch. Even I have some gastric problem for that. Now in case of food habit I eat most carbohydrate type food(like rice in lunch) and then Protein and fat (oily food). |

Rep Power: 10 | Hi Gothic, at your age don't worry too much about having a strict diet, just avoid too much saturated fats. Other than that, you ar exercising that should help. 4-5 kgs overweight is not a big deal and can be reduced. Just check your cholesterol, sugar, blood pressure once and if everything is all right don't worry too much about dieting at this stage. -F |

| No. Not if you are planning to lose weight eat healthy food not junk foods and biryani pulao should be a big no no try chapati even steamed rice won't harm you that much try having lots of green leafy vegetables and milk. every morning mix lemon juice with honey and have a glass of it mixed in lukewarm water. |

| I eat green vegetables, Not much of fast food fan, But whwenever we go out, we usually end up eating stuff like burger, Pizza, Fried chicken, chole bhature etc.. And i guess controlling that time is big deal.. Normally i eat healthy food only... Also this 4-5 Kgs more fat is consistent for last 2 years, I mean my weight should be 76 Kgs and for the last 2 years it's dangling between 80-81... No matter how bad i eat junk food.. Eat more Jokes apart, For how long you been following this kind of diet? I mean that's pretty healthy diet.. Last edited by gothic_coder; 08-11-09 at 09:57 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost |

You are fine in fact you are below average but not underweight as your BMI is 20.3. Last edited by Luke Skywalker; 08-11-09 at 10:04 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost | |
