    Default Max Payne

The new Max Payne movie starring Mark Wahlberg is out and has topped the US charts... The movie loosely based on the game character is doing good business... Max Payne did well at the US Box Office and topped the charts with a reported $18 million opening...

According to people who have seen this movie... The best thing is that it doesn't try to replicate the sensation of playing... It doesn't make you think you're controlling the characters, doesn't place you in the middle of their nausea-inducing world of a video game...

Instead, "Max Payne" is just a straight-up action picture, and a rather bombastic, familiar one at that... 2/3 of the movie is all talk and the rest is action... There is a story...

So all game lovers don't lose heart if you can't relate this movie with the high-action-filled game you played... Infact you don't get action till an hour in the movie...

Plot(courtesy IMDB) - Coming together to solve a series of murders in New York City are a DEA agent whose family was slain as part of a conspiracy and an assassin out to avenge her sister's death. The duo will be hunted by the police, the mob, and a ruthless corporation.

Anyway as u people know Max Payne was one of the best and still remains a classic Video game tittle ....The high light of the game was the gripping Romantic but tragic story of the NY cop[more like x-cop] Max payne .....Anyways dying to see the movie

He was nominated for oscars for his role in "The Departed"... And he was also the leading actor in the Sniper movie "Shooter"...

I saw Hitman... Another game based movie... Actor was good... but movie was ****... Thank God, Max Payne is more like a movie...

Yes Hitman was screwed .... Games and Movies are different ..no sense in making a movie like a game .... But because of the these movies the game 's image is also tarnished ....
Movies are something you should sit back and watch
Games u take part actively .....cant mix both

Yeah i know that guy ... have seen him in departed ...but shooter yet to see ....But i thought he was too soft/mild looking to act as Max Payne ...guess make up should do the trick

    Cool

I have heard that Prince Of Persia is also being made into a movie inspired by the game.
I am great fan of Prince Of Persia awaiting its new series to be released on 5th December.

Watched the movie recently. Its good. But its great if you have played the game because you are on the look out for similarities. Although a straightforward shooter movie like any other, you get a thrill when you see a scene straight out of the game. One scene is the one where you go to meet Max's partner in Roscoe street station. The background is the same. I won't mention the others lest it becomes a spoiler. Bullet time scenes are there, but you don't see Max using the entire arsenal of the game. Here Max is happy with the shotgun and the pistols. Mona Sax, Jim Bravura(Max Payne 2), dead wife, dead baby, are the other characters borrowed from the game. Mark Wahlberg as Max is great (same dress : leather coat, loosely knotted tie etc). Mark Wahlberg is one of the hottest action stars: Shooter, Departed, Fear, The Happening, Invincible etc) and he does full justice to this movie. See it if you are a Max Payne fan.

i watched the movie a few days ago ... the games were lot better ... the movie could have been a bit more plot/story oriented ... it was a poor attempt of copying the game ... some of the action scenes and the background music was good ... but overall this movie doesnt have much in it ...

The game was really refreshing, was hooked into the series back when they were released. The film has that dark prevailing sensation at all times. Some of scenes were barely understandable, like payne swimming away from river and howling while firestones are pouring in from the sky.
